The PMKP-110 absorber is a new high-performance shock absorber of increased energy intensity, class T1, to protect multi-purpose freight cars of general purpose from longitudinal loads. A feature of the KMT-118C draft gear is the use of elastic elements of increased reliability and energy intensity in the design of the plate apparatus, as well as the implementation of the apparatus parts from heat-treated steel with bronze inserts. This makes it possible to achieve, firstly, a high energy consumption of the device, and, secondly, to avoid the use of metal-ceramic linings, which increases the reliability and provides the required resource of the structure as a whole.
