Kinematics & Controls Corporation’s compact modular powder filling systems have proved to be popular in environments where not only precise material dosing is required, but also in areas where companies seek to make the process more efficient, maximising potential product throughputs. Powder is picked up by vacuum and compacted to a constant density within a cylindrical fill chamber. It is subsequently dispensed by the application of low-level, positive-pressure air. The use of a pre-defined vacuum force, compressing the powder sample to a uniform/ even density is the key to achieving the high level of repeat dose accuracy. Cumbersome, time-consuming, hand-weighing is thus eliminated. A wide range of standard gun sizes and filters with various porosities are offered for use with the variety of powders and container sizes which the customer’s process might demand. A custom, 8-up, Micro-Well kit can also be specified, to streamline the filling of 96-cavity well plates.

Continuous or Intermittent motion highly Accurate Rotary Powder Filler is a suitable solution for a wide range of powdered and granule products to be filled with medium and high production rates. One or more filling stations options, depending on product flow characteristics and a packaging formats. Rotary machines are available with over turrets of 12 to 48 pockets, with outputs up to 400 containers per minute. These can be integrated with gross or tare and gross check-weigher feed-back systems.

APPLICATION To be applied using a coating knife. Amount required : 1 kg m²/mm thickness. DRYING TIME Depends on the ambient conditions, the nature of the surface and the thickness of application. Generally speaking, when spread to a thickness of one cm, the filler dries in 6 hours.

TECHNICAL DEFINITION Cement-based powder filler with fibres for treating damaged exterior substrates. The filler is multi-purpose: can be used to fill, repair and rectify wall surfaces, with a smooth finish. SUITABLE SUBSTRATES All types of substrates : cement, concrete, concrete blocks, stones, brick, old paintwork, old tiling. COVERINGS Once the filler is completely dry, can be covered with all types of coatings and paintwork. Do not directly cover with solvent-borne paint. MATERIALS AVAILABLE DTU 59.1 TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS • Setting time : 2 hours • Particle size : fine SUITABLE SURFACES The substrates must be in conformity with DTU 59.1, i.e., clean, hard, free of dust and any trace of release agent. Scrape down, sand and wash old paint. USE CAUTION The temperature during application and drying must be between 5 and 30°C. Do not apply to a damp substrate. Do not use mix that has begun to harden. RATE TEMPERING Around 10 to 12 l of water per 25 kg sack. Mixing is preferably to be carried out mechanically. APPLICATION Application is to be carried out using a float, a knife or a putty knife for smoothing. For a decorative finish, use a roller, brush or sponge.

For tiling, choose an adhesive suited to plaster substrates. DRYING TIME This depends on the weather conditions, on the type of substrate and on the applied thickness. As a general rule, for 1 cm thickness, SEMIN FILLER AND SMOOTH FINISH dries in 6 hours.

Allow to harden and scrape off any possible imperfection before sanding down.
