Kala Namak salt comes from India and is widely used in Indian cuisine as a spice and an addition to spicy sauces. Eagerly used in a vegan and vegetarian diet. Black is mainly sodium chloride and trace amounts of sodium sulfate, iron sulfide and hydrogen sulfide. Sulfur compounds are responsible for a slightly bitter taste, and the hydrogen sulfide gives salt an egg smell.
