The steel pipes used in the manufacturing of pre-insulated pipes are manufactured longitudinally welded (ERW) or spirally welded (SAW) in accordance with the norms required by the standard TS EN 253 or customer demands. Pipes comprise three basic materials. Carrier pipes are established as steel, copper or plastic based according to the properties of the carried fluids. Casing pipes are manufactured from high density polyethylene (HDPE) raw material, with UV resistance, 100% waterproof and with online corona. PUR ( POLYURETHANE INSULATION MATERIAL) that is injected between the carrier pipe and casing pipe provides heat insulation besides enabling two pipes operating as one pipe by bonding them together.

The QuellTech laser sensor family Q4 or Q5 used for these tasks is generally mounted on an arm of a rotational axis, to scan along the complete 360° angle of the internal surface in a sequence of strips. The Q4 sensors can also be used to control the weld seam tracking itself for rapid setup and ease of use. Even during a project, the range and scope of the Q Series sensor demonstrates the advantages of a modular system to quickly adapt to project needs, where the smallest system has provided fast analysis of pipes as small as 105mm. The low power, with standard communication protocols, enable battery powered systems to transmit wireless data to other systems for review and cloud back up.

Combination of welding outlet and flange Nipoflange in pipeline construction A nipoflange is used in pipeline construction just like a welding outlet or a nipple outlet for a 90 ° branch. A Nipoflange is a combination of welding outlet, nipple outlet and flange. Further terms for Nipoflange are Weldoflange or Flangeolet. Swept outlet similar to ANSI B 16.19 / ANSI B 36.10 Swept outlets in pipeline construction A swept outlet is used in pipeline construction just like a welding outlet, a socket welded outlet or a threaded outlet for a 90 ° branch. A swept outlet is an alternative to the T-piece / red. In comparison to the T-piece / Red.Tee, the installation effort for a swept outlet is lower because only one hole has to be drilled into a pipe. The swept outlet can then be welded into this hole. A swept outlet differs from a welding outlet in the type of welding. While a welding outlet is only placed on the run pipe and then welded, a swept outlet is welded directly into the run pipe. Ideal stress distribution Swept outlets were developed in order to achieve the best possible stress distribution for internal pressure and pipe forces. Due to the favorable voltage level, swept outlets are often used in highly stressed pipes in the oil and gas industry.

During the Nord Stream 2 project several Aerolift lifting solutions were used on multiple locations. It is world’s largest pipeline project. During the project, a pipeline is laid through the Baltic Sea, which will transport natural gas over 1,200 km. The Aerolift pipe lifting solutions are applied for many different situations and places. During production, storage, transhipment, and internal transport. For this specific situation we designed a lifting solution to handle bare and coated pipes aboard the ship. The ship, The Amazon, was converted to an ultra-deepwater J-Lay vessel. Our vacuum lifting devices are installed on 4 cargo hold cranes. In tandem mode the cranes will be used to load and unload 24-meter-long pipes in a cargo. The lifting devices are designed to limit deflection of double joint pipes or to handle the entire pipe by vacuum only.
