Engineering is a crucial aspect of our company. In order to enable flexible and tailored solutions, we have our own skilled engineering department responsible for the development and design of the mezzanine floor and handling systems to bring your ideas to life. Each mezzanine floor is accompanied by a report containing a static calculation, which is conducted according to the requirements of EURO CODE 3. The engineering department at Nolte Mezzanine works with both 2D and 3D drawings, is familiar with new technical insights, and stays fully informed about recent developments in our field.

A mezzanine floor is an additional floor space between two levels. You can access this floor with a staircase. However, safety is paramount. We always recommend purchasing handrails for the stairs to ensure safety. This allows you to safely walk up the stairs. You often walk upstairs to retrieve items stored on the mezzanine level. Especially when carrying many items, it’s crucial to be able to walk up or down safely. Thanks to the steel handrails, you can hold onto them securely. Our stairs are standardly built in the Netherlands and Belgium at a 45° angle. The angle at which stairs are produced varies by country and is determined by legislation and customer preferences. We can supply stairs at any desired angle; for example, we often encounter stairs with angles of 35° or 50°. The height of a staircase can range from 1000mm to a maximum of 4200mm. If a staircase needs to be higher than the maximum allowable height, a landing must be installed. We provide three types of landings: quarter landings, through landings, and double quarter landings. Various components, including the stair stringers and pallet loading areas, are handcrafted by us.

The risk of accidents, personal injury, and material damage can be the consequences of an unsafe mezzanine floor. To prevent this, the law requires employers to conduct three mandatory inspections of their warehouse and/or mezzanine floor. These inspections include the initial inspection, the periodic safety inspection, and the inspection in case of damage. The inspection obligation for warehouse racks is established in the European standard NEN-EN 15635. This standard mandates a maintenance obligation for warehouse racks and mezzanine floors. Additionally, it stipulates that safety inspections of racks must be carried out by an expert on three occasions: after installation, relocation, or modification of the rack (the initial measurement), after serious damage, and periodically (at least every 12 months). Nolte Mezzanine has these expert inspectors available. Our inspectors can provide you with all three inspections.

Nolte Mezzanine takes control of the installation process. During assembly, the safety of personnel and the floor is our top priority. The components of a Mezzanine floor are delivered as a ‘construction kit’ by truck. We ensure that you are always informed about the work progress so that your employees and any other parties can work safely and undisturbed. During assembly, we always follow our established structured installation method. If you have your own assembly teams, we provide you with assembly manuals and construction drawings, allowing you to independently proceed with the assembly of the mezzanine floor. Once the floor is completed, we would be delighted to guide you through for the handover and finalize any remaining details.

To safely place goods and pallets on the Mezzanine floor, it is necessary to use a well-functioning pallet processing system. At the side where railing is installed, it is interrupted and designed as a pallet processing system with various safety features. Nolte Mezzanine offers the following 5 pallet processing systems

Nolte Mezzanine has developed a high-density chipboard (690 kg/m2, with a tolerance of +/-7%) U7 38mm as the base plate for the application of mezzanine floors, featuring an extremely compacted core and strongly bonded top layers. The Nolte chipboard U7 is a P6 board with enhanced strength properties. This CE-certified board (class P6 EN 312) significantly exceeds the technical strength and stiffness requirements of the P6 standard and serves as the basis for a robust and reliable floor. As a result, Nolte U7 boards can span greater distances between support beams than traditional P6 boards. This material saving allows mezzanine floors to be installed in a cost-effective manner.
