The used head protection textile resists liquide metal, sparks and slag. E Glass Cloth treated with aqueous vermiculite dispersion which provides a coating of platelets, which at high temperature melt to form further protection. The treatment increases abrasion resistance and also significantly increases its temperature resistance up to 1000°C (short term) in optimum conditions. Temperature resistance of base cloth is 550°C (continuous) in optimum conditions. Good insulation properties. Low smoke emissions. Withstands hot metal splashes and welding sparks. An alternative to ceramic and silica fibre where greater strength is required at high temperatures
