QuellTech Solution For this purpose, QuellTech offers a perfectly tailored seam tracking solution, which is based on a QuellTech 2D-Laserline Sensor of the Q4 family. The method consists in measurement of the real position and width immediately ahead of the welding process. The laser sensor captures the real dimension of the weld bead, and the software used for this process simultaneously sends the nominal position to the robot. The robot performs a correction movement in X or Z position according to this measurement. This way not only the deviation caused by tolerances, but also the warping effect can be compensated – and the weldment takes place exactly at the required position. The QuellTech 2D-Laserline Sensor is specially prepared to the highly disturbing ambient light from the weld process. It can be cooled and protected from weld spatter, so this model proves to be particularly adequate for operation in the harsh environment of the welding process.

The ID and OD tracking enable smooth beveling with out of round pipes and it is compatible with our Beaver S Series, except Beaver 3 S. ID tracking is highly recommended if consistent land is required and if a counterbore is not possible to apply. It helps you to compensate for the out of roundness and the deviation of wall thickness. However, the deviation in wall thickness does not matter for OD tracking. There are two types of applications for ID / OD tracking. The first one is the ID / OD tracking module, which can be placed and removed easily on the chuck. These track rollers offer the same features of a single row track roller with the added benefit of heavy radial, thrust or combined loads. Yoke-type track rollers are single or double-row units mounted on shafts or studs. Similar to the single row track roller, we can customize the running surface to meet the specific requirements of the applications. Cam rollers are similar in their construction to single and double-row support rollers, except that the raceway is formed by a heavy-section roller stud with a fixing thread. Our KIS track rollers are available as self-retaining, single or double row ball bearings with particularly strong outer rings. In addition to high radial forces, they also absorb axial forces in both directions. Track rollers are characterised by their robust construction featuring particularly thick-walled outer rings with a crowned outer surface (alternatively with a cylindrical outer surface or outer profile). They are designed to carry high radial loads and also tolerate axial loads that can arise due to minor misalignments, skewing or short-term start-up shocks. The assembly is constructed with a fixed inner ring mounted on axles. In this case, the track rollers are not installed in a housing bore, but are supported on a flat raceway (mating track). To ensure a reliable seal, the track rollers are fitted with a lip seal or cover discs on both sides. This prevents the ingress of dirt, dust and other contaminants while maintaining lubrication inside the bearing.
