With the decentralised solution, the ERDWICH swarf breaker is set up directly next to the lathe or machining centre. The swarf is removed and transported away to a central processing point either manually using a swarf cart or by means of pneumatic extraction, pumping or some other conveyor system. Swarf & Spirit brushes can be used for many manufacturing operations, particularly where loose swarf, dust or detritus needs to be removed without damaging the product. They can also be used for applying spirits, grease, chemicals, water, paste, glue or any substance that requires a small brush. They can be manufactured to individual sizes or dimensions suitable for inclusions in kits or containers.

Swarf crushing is always the first step for an automated swarf processing

Large amounts of bushy turnings can be added and processed directly (i.e. from cart dumpers). The shredder with vertical cutters(normal or fine) is especially suitable for crushing tough materials and is fitted with an automatic large part ejector.

The lift bottom centrifuge is designed for continuous operations. This up and down motion of the live bottom pushes the chips upward through the sieve. The centrifugal force, up to 500 times the force of gravity, will dry the chips, resulting in the maximum degree of de-oiling. The remaining oil content is extremely low. The dry chips fall down over the edge of the drum into a container. The are different models and different drives available.
