The KAUP Rotating Fork Clamp T451 is an attachment designed with high visibility. Its solid, strengthened construction using 1000-fold proven basic components of the KAUP modular system gives numerous possibilities for heavy duty applications.

Automatic clamping takes place over disc springs, which are adjustable in the pre-loading and are solved pneumatically to the workpiece change. Manual clamping is made by a knurled knob on the opposite side of the collet. The UNI lock mounting clamps can be installed in any position on machine tables, fixtures or workholding equipment (tooling plates, cubes, tombstones etc). The modular design enables the number of clamps and distance between them to be ideally adjusted to suit the clamping task. The clamps can be supplied with or without rotation lock. The high clamping forces are generated by the integrated spring package (the unit clamps when depressurised). Compressed air is applied to release the clamp. Their clamping elements are available for shaft diameters of 50 to 340 mm and ensure maximum holding forces. The costs are low in comparison with hydraulic clamping systems. Their performance is, however, achieved or exceeded despite the compact and easy to assemble design. Special versions for YRT bearings as well as active clamping elements are additionally available. ACE recommends the use of the optional shaft flange as wear protection. The clamping force can be increased considerably by the use of the additional air function.

The double-sided clamp straps are ideal for series clamping. For special applications, the clamping flange can be replaced with another clamping flange by loosening the clamping screw. The clamping flange must always have a contact point on both sides. Functional principle: 1. Use a hand-held or electric tool to tighten the hexagon head bolt (make sure that the maximum tightening torque is not exceeded). When clamping, the clamping flange automatically turns by quarter of a rotation and starts the clamping stroke. 2. Use reverse procedure to loosen the hexagon head bolt. The clamping flange automatically returns to its starting position (the set screw can be used to change the position of the clamping flange). The insides of the clamp arms of this attachment are optimised for the respective transport purpose. Generally the fixed arms are designed with toe-in.

This special Metzner development is able to process cable wires with a diameter of up to 28 mm. The cycle time for this is 2000 mm / 35 seconds.
