2K or 'two-shot' injection moulding consists of processing two different polymers (or two different colours of one polymer) into an end product by means of one injection moulding process. This technology enables several functions to be integrated into an injection moulded product. One of the major advantages of 2K injection moulding compared to overmoulding is that the polymer to be injected is still hot and has not shrunk yet. This virtually excludes the risk of burrs being formed on the second component. Another significant advantage is the cycle time gained, the constant process and the fact that manual insertion is not required, thus avoiding the risk of damaging the first component.

Silicone transfer molding is another manufacturing process used in the medical device industry. It is similar to LSR molding but focuses on more delicate electrical connections or instruments. It is a 2-step process that involves the manual molding of components into shape.

We use Silicone Molding at the end of cable assemblies to connect the cable with the connectors. Along with manufacturing over-molding alternatives for limited or single-use devices, we use our over-molding for the components that humans come in contact with to improve the feel and touch of the device, such as molding and overmolding for ECG cables.

ULTRABLEND medical is a gravimetric batch dosing and mixing station for plastic granules, additives, and regrind. It has been specially designed for pharmaceutical and medical technology applications. The high dosing accuracy and consistency of the ULTRABLEND improves end product quality and saves money by using less additives and reducing scrap. The ULTRABLEND is suitable for direct mounting on small injection moulding machines and extruders. All components are accurately dosed and weighed one after another into a weigh hopper. The piping system consists of high-quality NiroSan® SF press fittings with red moulded sealing rings made of FKM and NiroSan® stainless steel system pipes according to EN 10312. Specially made for all applications that require silicone free components. Silicone-free moulded sealing rings are ideally suited to applications such as varnishing and painting industries. All NiroSan® SF press fittings are made of the material 1.4404 / AISI 316L (for moulded fittings) and 1.4408 (for threaded fittings and stainless steel precision castings). The material contains a minimum of 2.3 % molybdenum and a lower carbon content than the conventional steel quality 316.
