Moly Permalloy® is a Nickel-Iron-Molybdenum alloy with a magnetic permeability that makes it suitable for electrical shielding applications. The alloy can be readily formed from the annealed temper.Effective magnetic shielding is provided by annealing at 1900°F or higher. Joining is accomplished by spot welding or tungsten inert gas welding. Available Sizes: Moly Permalloy® is available from Hamilton Precision Metals as strip product from 0.0005” to 0.015” (0.0127 mm to 0.38 mm) in widths to 12.0” (304.8 mm). It is also available in foil as thin as 0.000100” (0.00254 mm) in widths of 4.0” (101.6 mm) maximum. The metal conforms to ASTM A753, Type 4 and MIL N 14411, Type 1.

SS 430 is a corrosion and heat resistant ferritic Chromium Steel. It can be polished to appear similar to Chromium plate. The material is magnetic in both annealed and cold rolled tempers. The alloy can be readily blanked and formed. The material can be resistance welded, brazed, and soldered. SS 430 is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and fresh water, but it not resistant to most salts and sea water. It is resistant to scaling by oxidation up to about 1400°F. Available Sizes: SS 430 is available from Hamilton Precision Metals as strip product in thicknesses from 0.001” to 0.050” (0.0254 mm to 1.27 mm) in widths up to 12.0” (304.8 mm). The material conforms to ASTM A240, FED QQS 766, and UNS S43000.

Stainless Band’s in-house slitting line offers the capability for slitting up to 1250mm wide coil x 0.20 - 1.50mm thickness in 304/316L/321 and 430/409. Other grades are available on request. Also offering material as PE or PVC coated/with foil. Coil sizes range from 200kgs to 3500kgs depending on final widths. This unique line means Stainless Band can handle coils up to 8.5 tonnes on-site made from stainless steel AISI 304/316. This will reduce pricing and also improve delivery times to clients for wide coil and also standard products that Stainless Band provide. They offer good formability, corrosion resistance, toughness and good mechanical properties. As a result they are widely used for insulation and engineering applications. These grades are non-magnetic in the annealed condition. The density of our wide coil is 8.03kg/cm3-0.29 Ibs/in3. The modus of elasticity is 200 Gpa.

SS 436 is a corrosion and heat resistant ferritic Chromium Steel. It can be polished to appear similar to Chromium plate. The material is magnetic in both annealed and cold rolled tempers. This grade of ferritic stainless steel has shown a greater resistance to ridging or roping defects as compared to type 430 stainless steel. The alloy can be readily blanked and formed. The material can be resistance welded, brazed, and soldered. SS 436 is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and fresh water, but it not resistant to most salts and seawater. It is resistant to scaling by oxidation up to about 1400°F. Available Sizes: SS 436 is available from Hamilton Precision Metals as strip product in thicknesses from 0.001” to 0.050” (0.0254 mm to 1.27 mm) in widths up to 15.0” (381 mm). The material conforms to ASTM A240 and UNS S43600.

The microVEGA™ xMR system provides high throughput laser annealing for monolithic magnetic sensor formation. A highly flexible tool configuration, the microVEGA™ xMR can accommodate both Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) and Tunnel Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors, as well as easily adjust magnetic orientation, sensor position and sensor dimension—making it an ideal solution for magnetic sensor production. The microVEGA™ xMR uses on-the-fly spot and variable laser energy to provide selective heating of the pinning layer in each sensor in order to “imprint” the intended magnetic orientation. Magnetic field strength and orientation is adjustable by recipe, while high temperature gradients ensure low thermal impact. This allows sensors to be processed directly next to readout electronics as well as closer together, and enables the production of smaller sensors—freeing up space for processing more devices per wafer.
