Our ranges of light guides are available in a variety of materials Currently we offer BK7 or equivalent, Sapphire or equivalent and UV Fused Silica light guides, in an assortment of diameters and thicknesses. Light guides serve as the key element in cosmetic laser, or intense pulsed light (IPL) applications. IPL is commonly used for the removal of unwanted hair, as well as a range of other cosmetic applications. IPL applications make use of a variety of wavebands to target different chromophores. For this reason, our custom light guides are available in a choice of materials to suit your waveband requirement. Knight Optical’s custom BK7 or equiv light guides offer high internal reflection to minimize the loss of transmitted light. The robust edge sanding machine - best suited for the edge area of large surfaces! Equipped with a height-adjustable bracket, the UNICO can be used both kneeling and standing. The low-maintenance and quiet running motor makes it a very reliable machine. The UNICO is the technically and ergonomically improved successor to the classic RANDMEISTER. Even areas with poor lighting conditions can be worked on more easily thanks to the very robust, integrated LED work light. The height-adjustable guide tube and the slewable bracket allow an individually adjustable working position and the sanding even when standing. The handle positioned on the attachment makes it easier to guide the machine. Applications with the UNICO: The UNICO is suitable for sanding wood and screed surfaces. The machine shows its strength, for example, when removing old, persistent layers of paint and lacquer.

Knight Optical offers a range of precision optical components for use in IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) applications. The most common usage of IPL systems are typically used as photo epilators.Custom Ceramic Reflectors are a key component for this application. The xenon flash lamp which are typically used emit light in 360 degrees. However utilising ceramic reflectors which are light reflectors with a U channel means that light which would normally be wasted i.e. shining backwards is now refocused down into the filters and light guides. Knight Optical provides ceramic reflectors which are typically moulded from alumina. This choice of material is down to its ability to withstand thermal stresses and high reflectivity values. We also supply new innovative backlight technologies based on OLED materials in cooperation with MERCK.
