Cavity brushes are used with cavity wall insulation to prevent the insulation material from falling away to the neighbours. The brushes are placed in the cavity wall on the property boundary through small holes in the jointing. As soon as the brushes are in the cavity wall, they expand, after which the insulation material can be injected. Jobo is a manufacturer of cavity wall brushes and produces various standard sizes. The most commonly used brush is a round white brush with a length of 1 meter and a diameter of Ø90mm.
