Anchor bolts are not just the connection elements between the steel and concrete surfaces but they are one of the most important element in steel structures. Anchor bolts are responsible for the transfer of loads between the steel and concrete member. The proper installation of the anchor is as important as the correct design and fabrication.

Bossong anchors are embedded into boreholes made in the masonry to be strengthened through drilling machines with diamond bits, that work only with rotation movement in order to avoid vibration and percussion effects on the masonry. Depending on the type of masonry and on the particular setting of the site drilling works can be done with water or air cooling or with techniques that help to avoid the spread of cooling liquids. The choice of the drilling technique is decisive when works are done in unique and precious settings where painting, ancient plasters and stuccoes are present and have to be saved and preserved. The borehole diameter is designed according to anchors size it is usually about three times the steel bar diameter; the length of the anchor is another parameter to be evaluated for the right choice of the borehole diameter.

The main purpose is to attach heavy equipment to concrete, natural stone, and brick. End-to-end installation. The anchor is hammered into a pre-drilled hole in the attached material and concrete, and then tightened with a nut.

Metal frame anchor The main purpose is to attach wooden, metal frames and wooden boxes to a concrete base, building stone, solid and hollow bricks. End-to-end installation. The anchor consists of a steel split sleeve, a screw with a PZ3 slot and a cone nut. The design of the anchor is made in such a way that it is wedged and fixed first in the base, then in the attached material.
