Warm and fashionable winter hats made of angora are becoming more and more popular among women. What distinguishes them from other woolen hats, e.g. sheep's wool, is much greater natural fluffiness and softness. An example of such a very warm and pleasant to the touch hat is the Jessy model. Acrylic fiber is a synthetic one made from acrylonitrile, a clear plastic. This fiber, also called "art wool," is considered to use as a wool substitute. Among all synthetic yarns, acrylic is the closest to wool in appearance and feeling, however, it's lower cost than wool and has its own attractive characteristics.
