2K or 'two-shot' injection moulding consists of processing two different polymers (or two different colours of one polymer) into an end product by means of one injection moulding process. This technology enables several functions to be integrated into an injection moulded product. One of the major advantages of 2K injection moulding compared to overmoulding is that the polymer to be injected is still hot and has not shrunk yet. This virtually excludes the risk of burrs being formed on the second component. Another significant advantage is the cycle time gained, the constant process and the fact that manual insertion is not required, thus avoiding the risk of damaging the first component.

The overmolding process is when a flexible material is molded onto a more rigid material called a substrate. If properly selected, the overmolded (flexible material) will form a strong bond with the substrate. Bonding agents are no longer required to achieve optimum bond between the substrate and overmold. Gas assist molding is used to hollow out thick sections of a part where coring is not an option and sink is not acceptable. Gas assist molding can be applied to almost any thermoplastic, and most conventional molding machines can be adapted for gas assist molding. One of HODA, UAB activity is the plastic and rubber injection molding, using compressed nitrogen gas. We also provide assembly and packaging services.

Injection molding is used for manufacturing a wide variety of parts, from small components to large components. Once a component is designed, a mold is made and precision machined to form the features of the desired part. HODA, UAB range of products is very wide: from simple household tools to sophisticated technical details characterized by strict tolerances and high quality requirements.

HODA, UAB performs additional processing of plastic parts – industrial silk screen printing services. Instrument panels, molded parts, cases, control panels and bezels can be screen printed. Acrylic, aluminum, glass, stainless steel, steel and plastics can be screen printed. Screen printing can be done on curved surfaces, recessed surfaces, textured surfaces, flanges and inside boxes.
