The slewing bearing, also known as slew(ing) ring, is a type of bearing for low-speed and high axial load applications. The slewing bearing is a mechanical component that is used in major industrial sectors. Harbor and deck cranes are one of the ideal applications for using slewing bearings – for example, for container handling. Additionally, for wind turbine blades, the use of slewing bearings ensures the highest level of reliability and efficiency, as required by this sector. APPLICATIONS: Earth Moving Machinery Concrete pumps Civil and Harbor Cranes Wind Turbines Radar Robotics Packaging Logistics Material handling Bottling / filling carousels Rotating tables Polyurethane Injection Systems Drilling Rigs Welding Plants Water Treatment Plants Lunapark Woodworking Machines Marble Cutting Machines Palletizers Aerial Platforms Roller Conveyors / Idle Rollers

Thrust ball bearings are separable axial bearings. Features of thrust ball bearings: ideal for reduced and medium speeds they bear relatively high axial loads separable and easy to assemble Single direction thrust ball bearings can accomodate axial loads in one direction and thus locate a shaft axially in one direction. Double direction thrust ball bearings can accomodate axial loads acting in both directions and thus serve to axially locate a shaft in both directions. These bearings, in both versions, have been designed to withstand only axial loads and must not be subjected to radial loads of any kind. The unique construction of spherical roller bearings make them vital for heavy applications. Their performance is consistent even in extreme conditions, as in the case of high-stress environments and / or reduced lubrication. Spherical roller bearings can give a use life equal to twice that of traditional bearings, according to some estimates. Features of spherical roller bearings: ideal for reduced and medium speeds self-aligning and very robust able to bear radial and axial loads in both directions longer use life compared to traditional bearings excellent compensation for misalignments APPLICATIONS: Earth Moving Machinery Agricultural Machinery Fitness machines Steel working machines Marble processing machines Iron and Steel Industry Oil Industry Automatic opening systems Heavy machinery (eg machines for construction and mining) Bottling / filling carousels Steel mills Industrial transmissions Vibrating equipment / machines Vibrating sieves / vibrating screens

The Elastofip series includes reinforced elastomeric structural bearings, equipped on top and bottom with mechanical anchors. These are structural bearings consisting of an elastomeric core in which one or more steel laminates are inserted, hot vulcanized to the rubber. The presence of the laminates determines a vertical (axial) stiffening effect and the simultaneous reduction in the rubber swelling. Curing has two purposes: one is to convey the rubber tangential actions to the laminate and the other is to ensure the protection of steel against corrosion. Fixed Elastofip (EF) bearings are a cross between the fixed and free sliding type of bearings, as they permit deformations in all planar directions, but at the same time produce elastic reactions proportional to the deformations. In Elastofip (EM) free sliding bearing types and Guided sliding Elastofip (EU/EU*) longitudinal/transversal bearings, on the contrary, the mutual sliding of plane surfaces, one of stainless steel and the oth

The Neoarm series includes structural bearings of reinforced elastomer, consisting of an elastomeric block in which steel laminates hot vulcanized to the rubber are inserted on multiple laminates, with the main purpose of minimizing the swelling and slipping of the rubber under load. Neoarm structural bearings in general are used if the span of the beam does not exceed 20 m, if rotations are not extreme, if displacements are small and horizontal thrusts are limited. Nevertheless, they are sometimes made in large dimensions. By vulcanizing a wedge-shaped steel plate to the upper surface of the rubber, it is possible to install this type of bearing under beams of considerable slope. Notes: Even if elastomeric bearings are designed to consider shear movements, they should not be used to oppose permanent resistance against an external shear force applied on a constant basis. This means, for example, that they should be placed horizontally on the plane even if the deck is sloping. Please

Adding some supplementary features to the basic bearing types, FIP INDUSTRIALE can also produce special bearings, suitable for targeted purposes. These are the main types: Negative load bearings Also known as "anti-lifting" or "double-acting" bearings. These devices are also capable of resisting vertical tension loads, commonly denominated "negative". Load measuring bearings They permit in-situ measuring of vertical loads acting on the bearings. Depending on the technology used, measurements can be made next to the bearing or remotely, at any time of the bearing life span. Bearings with dampers These are a combination of one multidirectional or unidirectional bearing with hysteretic and/or viscous dampers. They are also called "flat sliding isolators with dampers". Bearings with shock transmitters Sliding bearings coupled with shock transmitters. In case of sudden movements, for example seismic movements, the shock transmitters prevent the relative movements of the structural eleme

The upper surface is treated to house the recessed and hollow PTFE core, while in the middle there is a ribbing (guide) especially made to absorb perpendicular stresses and determine the sliding direction. By the side of the guide two strips are coated with CM1 type anti-friction material, suitable to produce little friction to the sliding along the groove obtained in the upper part and coated with stainless steel; a sliding upper part, coated on the lower side with a couple of stainless steel plates which also cover the sides of the middle groove required for the case of the guide.

In this class of structural bearings rotation is permitted around just one horizontal axis. Its use is recommended whenever a high degree of stiffness against transverse rotations is considered necessary. Their elongated rectangular shape along the rotation axis is especially suitable if there is limited space available in the perpendicular direction to the rotation axis. TYPES: Cernoflon Rockflon

Sferopol ® structural bearings are spherical hinges in which the rotations about any horizontal axis are ensured by the sliding of a convex steel element in a monolithic concave element coated in SMF special sliding material, consisting of UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene), which is resistant to wear and tear and significantly extends the life of the bearings and the structure. In addition to compressive loads, Sferopol® bearings are capable of transferring forces and/or permit sliding in one or more directions of the horizontal plane depending on the different bearing types. In movable bearing types, the mutual sliding of two plane surfaces, one of stainless steel and the other of SMF, ensures the bearing's translation movements. TYPES: SF Sferopol ® bearings, Fixed type SU Sferopol ® bearings, guided type, longitudinally sliding SU Sferopol ® bearings, guided type, transversally sliding SM Sferopol ® bearings, free sliding type

Vasoflon® are confined elastomeric disc structural bearings. Rotations around any horizontal axis are ensured by the deformability of a non-reinforced rubber disc, or bearing, confined within a steel monolithic base (pot). The elastomer acts as a fluid which, subject to a triaxial pressure, opposes weak resistance to deformations and simultaneous strong vertical stiffness. In addition to vertical compressive loads, Vasoflon® bearings are capable of transferring forces and/or permit sliding in one or more directions of the horizontal plane depending on the different bearing types. In movable bearing types, the mutual sliding of two plane surfaces, one of stainless steel and the other of PTFE, ensures the bearing's translation.
