Wire transducers series WDS are composed by the draw-wire mechanics coupled to Elap multiturn absolute high-resolution encoder MEM-BUS or MEM. They can provide different communication protocols – EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET, Profibus, CANopen or SSI output signal. The encoder grants high resolutions values (28 or 29 bit) and strokes ranging from 3000 to 15000 mm. The housing is out of aluminium, whilst the wire consists of coated poliamide stainless steel.

Stout, easy to install, highly protected against environmental agents: ELAP linear wire potentiometers series HPS are the ideal solution for those industrial applications which require high accuracy and measuring length up to 8 metres. The series HPS, with potentiometer output, is supplied with strokes ranging from 250 to 8000 mm, ±0.25% linearity, 5 KOhm resistance and infinite resolution. The analogue output signals 4-20 mA or 0/10V are also optionally available. The types HPS-S, HPS-M and HPS-L differ for mechanical size and measuring stroke. The encoder HLS is available with strokes ranging from 1000 to 12000 mm, and resolutions ranging from 0.04 to 1 mm, push-pull or line driver output signal. The types HLS-S, HLS-M and HLS-L differ for mechanical size and measuring stroke. GENERAL OPERATION The machine is built-up of a rotating plate and a knot device that allow to create the requested wire ties. When the cycle is running, the pinch roll insert the wire in the machine and the rotating plate starts to rotate creating the wire ties. The crossed ends of the wire are held together and twisted by rotation of the gripper. AUTOMATIC CYCLE When the operator press the “start” button, the automatic cycle command is sent to the machine. This signal allow to insert the wire into the rotating plate following the sequence below: - Realignment and lifting of the twister. - Realignment of the wire step cylinder. - Closing of the pinch roll. - Moving forward of the puller. - Insertion of the wire by means of forward rotation of the pinch roll. When the twister is in high position, the puller is moved forward, in order to pull out the wire ties. With a time delay, the machine starts a new tying cycle (according to the number of the ties set in the operator’s panel).
