Seaming chucks and rolls made from tool steel are generally considered the industry standard for can factories, while canneries generally use stainless steel. Other types of steel are commonly used in the production of seaming chucks for Easy open covers, especially for those chucks that suffer from a weak chuck lip.

Spinflanging rolls can be manufactured in steel using AISI D2 tools, in ASP23 and ASP30 sintered steels, with titanium coatings, hard chromium coatings, hard metal or ceramic heads. Imeta also manufactures complete spinflanging heads and complete sets of tools for Cevolani, FMI, Metal Box, LANICO and other spinflanging machines.
