Carbideline consists of CarbideLine-S solid carbide tools, CarbideLine-H hybrid tools and multi-part carbide tooling with CarbideLine-I indexable carbide tools. All CarbideLine tools excel through maximum productivity in their specific fields of application. CarbideLine-H tools are a new addition to the product range. They cover the module range 5 to 12 and are the 1st. choice for rough machining and finishing large lot sizes, where the tools costs using solid carbide milling cutters are too high and the gear cutting quality is too low using indexable inserts. CarbideLine-H tools are also highly suitable for machining high-strength materials up to 1,400 N/mm2 and enable a gear quality up to quality grade AAA. Its preferred area of application is for gears for commercial vehicles, general mechanical engineering and energy technology. In one specific application it was possible to reduce the gearing costs per wheel by 20% with the CarbideLine-H compared with an indexable insert system.

SpeedCore is a newly developed substrate for hobs. The increased hot hardness of the intermetallic cutting material allows for cutting speeds of at least 30 % higher compared with HSSPM4/ 14 hobs, resulting in shorter production times without sacrificing tool live and ocmplies with the demand of customers for easy handling and easier recycling. Combining the new SpeedCore substrate with a custom coating achieves top performance with easy implementation and high reliability. This built-in hob with clean symbols and effortless operation is easy to use. The electric hob is equipped with touch control and 5 automatic cooking zones with 9 cooking positions. The hob is made of heat-resistant glass, which offers durability and safety. It has 5 cooking zones that can be used individually or simultaneously. The triple and oval zone design is perfect for larger cookware and faster heating. This hob is suitable for all pans with a flat bottom. The temperature is controlled by the built-in sensor, so that the hob switches off automatically if it gets too hot or if you forgot to switch it off. Thanks to the residual heat indicator, the display gives a warning when the cooking zone has been on for some time and radiates residual heat. The hob also gives an acoustic signal after the set time or switches off after the time set with the individual timer (up to 99 minutes).

Gear hobbing on CNC lathes without B-axis Years ago, EWS was the first tool manufacturer to offer gear hobbing heads in its standard range, and has continued to develop the holders for gearing technology ever since then. With this technology, it became possible for the first time to produce external gearing on machines without a Y/B-axis. In contrast to a standard milling wheel holder, the tool head of the EWS modular cutter can be swivelled about the axis of the shank. This offers users the advantage of substituting a B-axis with a comparatively small investment. In the meantime, module 3 has become commonplace on VDI40/BMT65/BMT75 machines. The tool heads have become more stable at the same time as being more user-friendly. Solidity and power are ensured by large dimension guides and torque motors, for all types of gear hobbing. Its versatility allows to adapt to any customer equipment, for each production code. The shift axis allows the mounting of several tools, managed to optimize the cooling down and consumption of the cutting tool. A detailed research on locking systems led to improve the extension of the cutting hob, ensuring precision and rigidity. The gear hobbing machine, model DM 6.0, is a C.N.C machine designed for the hobbing of cylindrical, spur, helical gears, splined shafts, and milling of endless screws, on shafts with length up to 600 mm. The solid structure, matched with high quality materials, ensures a longer duration of cutting hob, permitting continuity of production and a significant productivity growth. The shift axis permits the use of different tools and the realization of multiple hobbing with a single set-up on the workpiece. The height of the table and large sliding doors are studied to consent an easy access at tooling operations or workpiece replacements. The software, realized by us, is simple, complete and intuitive and it can be customized on specific requests.
