The MTS1HIGHTEMP is a high-sensitivity, single-channel thermopile detector for precise, non-contact temperature measurement. Tanks to the housing with a soldered filter the detector is resistant to humidity, aggressive gases and other environmental influences. The high detectivity of up to 12.2*10^8 cm√Hz/W and the high sensitivity of up to 501 V/W are achieved by back gassing with krypton and the special chip design. Influences by humidity in the measuring environment are eliminated by a filter used in the transmission range from 8 to 14 µm. These properties allow the use in applications with high requirements, such as temperature monitoring of thermally indexed process parameters in the metal industry or testing of maintenance-relevant properties in the solar semiconductor industry. The detector can be used at ambient temperatures between -20 and 180 °C. An integrated thermistor for intrinsic temperature monitoring can compensate external temperature influences.

The high sensitivity 1-channel thermopile detector is based on MEMS technology. The very high detectivity of up to 12.2*10^8 cm√Hz/W, as well as the high sensitivity of up to 501 V/W, are made possible by two factors. The radiation-sensitive thermocouples are aligned to a focal point. A krypton gas filling further increases the detectivity and sensitivity of the thermopile. The filter measures in the transmission range from 8 to 14 µm. This means that there is no absorption in the H2O bandwidth range. Influences due to humidity are excluded. These properties allow the use in demanding applications for non-contact temperature measurement in industry, like temperature monitoring of melting processes in the glass and plastics industry or temperature monitoring of engines and brakes in the automotive sector. The detector can be used at ambient temperatures between -20 and 85 °C. An integrated thermistor for intrinsic temperature monitoring can compensate external temperature influences.

The MEMS-based MTS1TEMP56 detects infrared radiation for non-contact temperature measurement. The 56 silicon thermopiles absorb the incoming radiated energy. The integrated mass absorber ensures the efficient conversion of the radiated energy into thermal energy. The thermocouples convert this thermal energy into electrical energy, which is output as a measurement signal. The single channel thermopile is the best choice for mass applications with quantities above 50000 pieces per year in medical and life science applications or in building automation. The TO46 package with small dimensions makes this component especially suitable for mobile devices. With a detectivity up to 0.67 *10^8 cm√Hz/W as well as a sensitivity up to 31 V/W, the materials offer reliable measurement results at a very good price/performance ratio. Nitrogen was used as backfill gas and a filter with a transmission cut on 5.5 µm. ATTENTION: 1 piece packaging unit contains 200 detectors each!
