UV lights are used to make invisible features on products visible. The UV radiation causes certain materials to glow. This glowing is clearly visible to the human eye and cameras. Product labels that consumers find annoying can be applied with transparent, fluorescent ink. However, under UV radiation, the labelling can be made visible for the purposes of inspection. Fluorescent, low-contrast adhesives, paints and seals can be shown in high contrast with ultraviolet radiation. Presence and completeness monitoring is thus made easier for the camera. The finest cracks, such as in cast parts, can be made visible with the aid of fluorescence.

LUMIMAX® LED Dome Lights are characterized by their diffuse light and the dome shaped reflector. The LED Dome Light hits the test object from all directions. This attribute allows a completely shadowless lighting. LED Dome Lights work at a small operating distance. LUMIMAX® Bar Lights generate an elongated illumination of the test object, due to its constructional shape. The illumination radiation characteristics can be influenced by using various ancillary lenses. LUMIMAX® lightings of the LB-series are equipped with high-quality Power-LEDs and therefore guarantee an extremely bright homogeneous illumination – even with large operating distances and short exposure times. These continuous or flash lightings are applied combined with matrix and line scan cameras in code-scanning applications, as Dark Field Lights, for illuminating large object fields etc.

Thanks to the modular design as well as a wide range of accessories the ultraflexible high-performance lighting LQHP80 can be converted from a reflected light into homogeneous or collimated backlight. In addition, the radiation angle can be adapted to the size and distance of the test object by diverse lens kit options. The compact housing design with IP64 withstand demanding industrial environments and fits into even very limited installation surroundings thanks to a highly flexible 3D-cable outlet. With the integrated controller technology for either permanent, switch or flash operation modes, an irradiance of more than 5.0 millions lx can be achieved.

The BLACK variant of the LUMIMAX® Area Lights have a light area, which is diffuse black when the light is switched off and therefore it can be used as a low-reflection background. The special coating of the diffusor absorbs a large part of the incident light. Hotspots, e. g. from single LEDs of a ring light (reflected light), are not visible in the camera image. If the lights are switched on, they offer the usual homogeneous, diffuse, but still very bright lighting. Therefore, these lights are ideally suited for complex Machine Vision applications that require a combination of reflected light and backlight within a single checking station.

The mechanical design of the LUMIMAX® Area Lights with LightGuide technology was significantly reduced by repositioning the cooling fins as well as the optimization of the light guides and the controllers. The dimensions (l x w x h) and the weight of the new versions are about 25% lower compared to the predecessor models - with the same light field dimensions. Thanks to newly developed flexible cable outlets on the rear of the lights, the connection cables can be flexibly positioned. Thus, the optimized, more compact casing design with protection class IP64 enables flexible use in demanding industrial environments.

LED Ring Lights are suited for consistent illumination of flat, diffuse or reflective surfaces. The LED Ring Lighting is affixed directly on the camera or on the lens. By using diffusers, Fresnel lenses and polarization filters, test objects can be illuminated in a focused or in a diffuse way - even at a larger operating distance. The LED Ring Lights are available as continuous or as flash lights. The High Power Flood Lights of the LR serie have extremely bright LEDs. This guarantees an excellent illumination even for a working distance of several metres. The mechanical design of the Ring Light LSR24 enables a direct attachment to lenses. It illuminates areas of interest with a medium distance (shorter than one meter) very brightly.

LUMIMAX® LED Area Lights can be either used as an incident or a transmitted illumination. Depending on the diffusor it produces a homogeneous or a directed light to highlight characteristic features of the test objects. Its structure allows any kind of arrangement around the test object. Large sized LED Area Lights can be used for illumination of along distant object. High power LED area flood lights in the LQ series have an impressive range of functional highlights. The integrated lens exchange option allows the light source to be individually adjusted to different object sizes and working distances.

The design of LUMIMAX® LED bar lights generates the optimum illumination for elongated test objects. With power LEDs in conjunction with interchangeable ancillary lenses, these universal lights are suitable for example for dark field or bright field applications. Products in the compact LSB series are designed for applications that demand perfect illumination in restricted installation environments. Another special feature is the innovative mounting solution, which allows one to four bar lights in the LSB series to be incorporated in the square.

LUMIMAX® LED Dark Field Illumination is favorably used for testing and checking surfaces, because of their radial flat incident light. Through the high-contrast resolution and the intensive shadow formation of the LED Dark Field Illumination, defects and surface outlines appear as bright areas on a dark background. As Dark Field Lights work with pretty short working distances due to the very flat light rays, a fully closed Ring Light might not be possible. LED Dark Field Illumination is available for continuous or flash operation.

LUMIMAX® LED Spot Lights are very compact and powerful. They are characterised by an extremely high light intensity. Because of various available and adjustable optics with their very homogeneous light, LED Spot Lights can illuminate very small surfaces directly and focused. Their compact design allows an optional arrangement around the testing object. The High Power LED Spots are available for either continuous operation or flash operation. TThe built in precision lens of the Spot5W enables a very focussed, selective and high-intensity illumination, even at working distances larger than one meter.
