Original ink rolls in Meto quality are available for all Meto hand-labelers with standard ink (paper / indoor use) or with UV-resistant ink (plastic labels / outdoor labeling).

The T2-L is the world’s first industrial-grade, professional digital press for flexible packaging utilizing water-based inks. This flexible packaging water-based narrow inkjet press also comes with inline cold lamination. Therefore, the T2-L accommodates a wide range of flexible packaging solutions. The TrojanLabel T2-L delivers superior print quality onto flexible packaging using cost-effective Natura™ water-based inks. It prints UV-and water-resistant labels that can withstand the challenging demands of harsh labeling applications. In addition, the inline cold lamination also provides flexible packaging that is food safe, eliminating the complexity of producing flexible packaging through other methods. Measurement of the surface tension The adhesion of a surface is usually directly dependent on the surface energy. If the surface energy is substantially lower than that of the printing ink used, the wetting is disturbed, resulting in poor adhesion. For this reason, plastic surfaces have to be pre-treated. Depending on the type of ink used the surface tension required can vary: solvent based inks => 38 bis 42 mN/m (=Dyn/cm) water soluble inks => 40 bis 44 mN/m UV inks => 44 bis 46 mN/m With the test inks of AFS, which are available from 34 to 56 dyn/cm surface tensions of plastic films can be easily and reproducibly determined according to DIN ISO 8296. Depending on whether the ink sticks or bubbles on the surface it indicated whether the surface tension is above or below the dyne-value of the currently used test ink. We also offer the test inks in a case with 12 bottles from 34 to 56 dyn/cm.

UV lights are used to make invisible features on products visible. The UV radiation causes certain materials to glow. This glowing is clearly visible to the human eye and cameras. Product labels that consumers find annoying can be applied with transparent, fluorescent ink. However, under UV radiation, the labelling can be made visible for the purposes of inspection. Fluorescent, low-contrast adhesives, paints and seals can be shown in high contrast with ultraviolet radiation. Presence and completeness monitoring is thus made easier for the camera. The finest cracks, such as in cast parts, can be made visible with the aid of fluorescence.
