Elastomer or plastic sealing elements and also elements made of composite materials (elastomer + plastic or metal) can be compounded with metal detectable additives.

Franke bearing asseblies type LVD are ready to install bearing assemblies with external gear, steel housing rings and integrated bearing elements. Franke bearing assemblies type LVD are suitable for medium rotational speeds and accuracies. They can be supplied at short notice, in some cases even from stock. Designed as 4-point bearings, they can support equally high loads from all directions and are insensitive to shocks and vibrations. The bearing elements are sealed on both sides and adjusted to preload.

The bearing assemblies are equipped with the S10 boot seal as standard. Temperature: –30 ° C to +80 ° C (NBR). Max. Peripheral speed: 5 m / s. For the sealing of the construction (e.g. when using a bearing element) the seal can be ordered by the meter. The joint is then glued with Loctite 401® adhesive. Special seals are available on request. Franke offers Viton seals for high temperatures or aggressive media.

Compatible with most fluids and chemicals and efficient in a wide range of temperatures, it offers low friction with no stick-slip, minimal break out force and high wear resistance.

The special flanged heel prevents the seal from rotating/twisting and the short and heavy dynamic lip offers reduced friction, resistance to aging and a good scraping effect even in highly viscous media.

In heavy duty applications, leak free performance and high service life cannot be assured by a single sealing element; therefore, specially developed ”system seals” are arranged in series, building a ”tandem configuration”. Each sealing element in a system has its specific function and their interaction needs to be secured to get a redundant sealing system. The primary seal in Zurcon® material has an excellent wear and extrusion resistance under extreme working conditions. It allows a fine lubrication film passing this first barrier, ensuring the necessary lubrication of the secondary sealing element for long service life. The ”tandem arrangement” requires an outstanding back-pumping ability of the primary seal and the secondary seal, if a double acting scraper is installed.
