Water disinfection - Import export

The German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW) and the Austrian standardization committee have defined the requirements for UV water disinfection systems with UV low-pressure lamps in DIN 19294-1:2020-08. This also specifies the design, function and opening angle of DVGW reference radiometers. The previous technical rule W294-3 and ÖNORM 5873 continue to apply to devices for drinking water disinfection with medium-pressure lamps. The sensors are inserted into a pressurized water-tight measuring window tube, which enables simple and reproducible replacement of the sensors. With an aperture angle of 160°, our sensors are suitable for precise radiometric measurement of UVC irradiance in UV water disinfection systems. We offer these with reference radiometer RMD. The UV measuring probes with 14 mm diameter only serve as compact, long-term, stable measuring heads for the supervision of UV irradiation systems and for UV measurements in inaccessible locations. In addition, optional water and light guide adapters enable the application in hot locations and in water disinfection systems. The integrated electronics generate a signal voltage that is transferred to the UV monitor RM-31 or to the PLC with low noise by a shielded cable.

The water pressure-proof UVC-SE sensors serve as robust, long-term stable measuring heads for the precise measurement of UV-C irradiances of low-pressure mercury lamps and amalgam lamps in water disinfection and wastewater systems. The sensor can be exposed to pressure of up to 10 bar. A long-term, stable high-sensitivity photo diode with a large active area of 1 cm² is used. This provides low noise and improved sensitivity, below 260 nm, compared to SIC sensors. Superior corrosion resistance and long-term stability is also achieved through the use of appropriate materials. No aging is determined over a period of one year. The sensors are calibrated with traceability to the PTB, the German national test authority. The integrated electronics produce a signal voltage that is transmitted to the PLC or panel meter RM-32, so that inferences are minimized. Operating voltage and output signal can be selected to match the measurement task or PLC interfaces.
