Considerable reductions in time and money can be made by using LocTec® lock fasteners to create lock fastenings. The screw is simply screwed in using the special locking bit - job done. There's no need for any further locking measure - such as driving in steel balls, or using breakaway elements. The special flank geometry on the screw drive allows the screw only to penetrate inwards. Any attempt to drive it out, even using the locking bit that was used to fit it, will result in the fitting tool being automatically driven out. It means that the fastening can be undone only by mechanically adapting the screw head.

The trend – particularly in the automotive industry – is towards lightweight materials. Aluminium and magnesium alloys are in increasing use in many fields of technology. So fastening technology needs to adapt too. Aluminium offers countless options because the material is so versatile for cold forming. Under the Alufast® name ARNOLD UMFORMTECHNIK has brought together screw fasteners and form parts made from aluminium. Our many years of experience working with aluminium, including extensive research are your guarantee of optimum fastening results. We are constantly optimising our processes, ensuring that our Alufast® products are always at the latest state of technology.

The requirements of modern screwdriving systems are becoming increasingly complex. Besides achieving the best possible seat for the tool, the most important criteria for driving tools are service life and torsional stability. The TORX PLUS® provides enormous advantages. TORX PLUS® provides these advantages, due to the following design characteristics: The actual working angle is 0° Larger cross-section on cam faces Lower chamfering on application of force Where TORX PLUS® drivers are used the head height can be minimised, thus reducing the overall weight of the component. This is made possible with the improved force application process, which ensures decreased penetration depth.

Toothing is a frequent design element. They are complex in geometry, and their manufacture requires heavy machine use. Previously, toothed parts were mainly manufactured in a cutting process with a finishing process that followed the heat treatment stage. But we produce toothed parts in a cold-form process, thus providing the following benefits: customer-specific external geometries greater endurance strength greater mechanical load resistance press-smooth surfaces high accuracy of shape and position saving on materials

Lightweight structures in the automobile industry demand savings in materials and weight, while using materials and components with high load capacities. Plastic-moulded bushes take account of this development. They reinforce the plastic, make weak points for load-bearing functional elements and receive the pre-load forces of screw fastenings. The use of aluminium bushes saves even more weight, providing sophisticated solutions when combined with TAPTITE 2000® thread-rolling screws. Conform® bushes indicate high accuracy in length and diameter.

Every day, industries throughout the world encounter assembly problems caused by cross-threading. Cross-threading occurs when the screw is misaligned into the female thread. This creates a new thread, which destroys the female thread. Now Arnold UMFORMTECHNIK is able to supply the patented MAThread® dog-point, an innovative solution to this problem. Screws with MAThread® dog points are shorter, lighter and can be used in more applications than other special fasteners. They are easy to fit, and robust, and thus eliminate every problem that commonly occurs with regard to fitting threaded fasteners. The MAThread design allows the designer to select the point shape best-suited to feed well in the application. As the threads come into contact, the patented anti-cross thread MAThread design begins to cam over the female thread. The MAThread design now forces the two thread helixes to align every time without fail.

As a general rule, aluminium inserts are mainly used for joining plastics. They are used to stiffen components (tube supports) or as the counterpart to a direct fastening. With the appropriate choice of geometry and alloy they obtain outstanding fastening results. The benefits of aluminium inserts as metal-metal fastenings become evident, particularly for components that are subject to vibration stress or where operating temperatures are high. lightweight flexible durable stable environmentally friendly corrosion resistant The benefits of a trilobular cross-section approx. 35 % greater torsional torques compared with round-knurled inserts greater vibration resistance permits greater core hole tolerances when press-fitting

TriPress® is a triangular rapid fastening system that can be clinched into plastic and light metals. During the clinching operation, the two components of the TriPress® fastener connect together quickly and economically. It is available in the following designs: Triangular shank and knurl parallel with axis provide greater torsional strength. Circumferential locking flutes on triangular shaft generate high pull-out resistance. Combination of grooves and knurls permit positive-fit fastenings and achieve high torsional torques and pull-out forces (figure 4). So the fastener can be clinched into pre-prepared holes or injected as inserts into plastic housings.

By using REMFORM® screws to join synthetic materials, the cost of the inserts and the associated work step can be omitted in the injection process. The screw simply screws into an existing core hole, forming its own thread as it goes in. The asymmetric thread geometry of the REMFORM® screw ensures that the synthetic material flows towards the load flank as the thread is formed. Thus: low turning torques high vibration resistance low cracking risk high assembly reliability Additionally: The radial force offset to the radius enables a much higher tightening torque simultaneous with a smaller tube geometry. Result: much higher clamping force. Your commercial benefits: The overall cost of fastenings is reduced by up to 72%.

How the fastener functions The material is peeled and a collar formed so that a flush and positive fit of the fastener is created with the sheet metal material. This can either transfer very high forces (e.g. AX 20x14) or with the version that is flush with the sheet, the fastener can be used to directly mount connected parts (e.g. AX 16x4). This principle can be applied to almost every material. The benefits of the RIVORM® HR clinch nut one nut for all sheet metals up to 4.5 mm cost-saving due to fewer variants high-strength, press-hardened and hot-stamped steels very good torsional strength regardless of metal strength high pull-out force The benefits of the RIVORM® TR rivet for fitting ties and springs fully automated processing possible in the subsequent composite tool can be applied universally for different assembly jobs, such as fastening electrical control units, or other plastic parts, simply by clipping them in

A non-detachable fastening for sheet metals can be produced at optimum cost by using self-clinching screws under the brand names of RIVTEX® (for sheet thicknesses between 0.75 and 2.00 mm) and STRUX® (for sheet thicknesses between 2.0 and 5.00 mm). The clinching technology is suitable for steel and aluminium sheets, causes very little cost in inspection and control, and allows several clinch screws to be processed in a single stroke.
