The rapid change system EWS-Varia allows to set-up a modern CNC lathe or a turning milling center – and this flexibly. The innovative recuperation module from CIC acts as an energy-saving valve and control module directly in the pneumatic circuit. Stainless steel is expensive. Verinox offers the same level of quality as the conventional material used for the construction of tanks and containers while using less stainless steel. With Verinox – the duplex material developed by Lipp – a sheet of stainless steel is joined to a sheet of galvanised steel by means of a separation layer. Three components form the basis for this material that is ideal for tank and container construction not only does it have outstanding physical properties but it also uses a reduced quantity of expensive stainless steel, resulting in lower costs. With this invention, Lipp has successfully retained the economic benefit of the LIPP Double Seam System while improving the material savings made. Chip cooling with the aid of heat sinks usually requires a lot of space and is not only heavy but also expensive. The specialists at SEPA EUROPE have developed a chip cooler with minimum space requirements for compact designs. The core component of the compact cooler is the ultra-flat blower HY40H that is combined with a Kühligel® of pure aluminium. The special feature of the new cooling solution is its variability which means that the size and shape of the heat sink can be freely chosen. Users can thus assemble the cooler to optimally fulfil their requirements. With a thermal resistance of a mere 2.5 K/W, the new chip cooler withstands a power dissipation of up to 15 W and in doing so guarantees the operational safety of the entire embedded system. The blower is equipped with the highly durable Magfix® sleeve bearing and has an impressive service life expectancy of von 210 000 h (MTBF) at 40 °C.

The fan and cooling specialist SEPA EUROPE unveils a true innovation this year: The RaAxial fan. This created term is a combination of the words radial and axial. The microfan with its dimensions of 17x17x4.5mm is ideal for compact, embedded applications and offers numerous possibilities, e.g. as an axial fan for the ventilation of housings or as a radial fan for blowing air onto the heat sink. A tailor-made „Kühligel®“ has already been developed for the latter which makes the cooling of hotspots child’s play when space is limited. Reliability has top priority at SEPA EUROPE. For this very reason the new fan is equipped with the tried and tested Magfix® bearing system. The life expectancy at 40 °C is 210 000 h (MTBF) or 40 000 h (L10).

Wireless seonsoring systems from AMF: flexible, compact and economical. They enable fully automated production processes for clamping technology as well as for modern handling and storage systems. The system consists of sensors and transmitter units that are interlinked both with the gateway and recipient, which communicates wirelessly with the machine control by means of Bluetooth Low Energy.

The brand-new PPJ system impresses not only with its well-conceived components and size but also with its innovative form. In this system, we have combined our decades of experience in an attractive design. The independent regulation of fluid and spray air pressure achieves excellent results even with higher-viscosity media. Available for up to 6 spray heads and in versions with 1, 3 and 5 litres, this system has a very compact design and therefore takes up extremely little space when installed. The system is suitable for the initial equipment of machines as well as for subsequent installation. The PPJ system can be used with our spray heads (starting on p. 20) and the JOP drip-feed dosing device (p. 30) up to a maximum viscosity of 2300 mm²/s at 20 °C or 500 mm²/s at 40 °C (except for substances containing paint, resin and glue).

ESM for AC-brakes: The module consists of a time-controlled rectifier with integral electronic fast turn-off. During start-up, the ESM delivers bridge-rectified output voltage before changing over to half-wave rectification. The built-in voltage sensor ensures that the DC side output voltage is interrupted electronically when AC input voltage is removed. Thanks to its compact design, the ESM can be installed in very restricted space. ESM for DC-brakes: The module keeps the voltage supplied to the electromagnetic device at a constant level over a wide input voltage and temperature range. Full operating voltage is applied to ensure fast switching when the load is switched on. The module then reduces the power supply to constant holding voltage. A 30% reduction provides power savings of 50%. The ESM is very compact thanks to the use of state-of-the-art microelectronic and power electronic components. Overexcitation time and holding voltage can be factory-programmed to customer demands.

The Flowform® screw is a polygonal screw based on TAPTITE 2000®, which makes use of the technology known as "flowhole-forming" in manufacturing processes. Using this technology the Flowform® screw causes the sheet metal to heat, using a combination of axial force and relatively high screwdriver speed . Once the material has been penetrated the polygonal shape of the screw forms a calibrated metric female thread which can accept a metric screw in the event that a repair is required. After the torque-controlled assembly process the formed through-hole adjusts optimally to the contours of the screw. This gives the following advantages: Higher process reliability in the screw fastening with the option of a larger screwdriver shut-off window More flexibility when selecting the screwdriver, and more straightforward monitoring of the assembly process. In addition the Flowform® screw considerably reduces screw-in times.
