The Z+F IMAGER® 5006EX pioneers surveying in underground mining and industries where explosive atmospheres occur. The Z+F IMAGER® 5006EX is the world´s first ATEX approved 3D laser scanner for use in mining and industrial applications under explosive conditions.The Z+F IMAGER® 5006EX is class I and class II approved according to ATEX directive 94 / 9 / EG. The ATEX directive 94 /9 / EG "Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres" is a European standard. The ATEX approval for this equipment is widely accepted outside the European community as well.

The EEX Line includes spring-pressure single-disc brakes provided with explosion protection for explosion-hazardous areas. The spring-pressure brake with firedamp protection is suitable for underground excavations with danger of firedamp. In spring-pressure brakes with explosion protection, those parts which might ignite explosive mixtures are incorporated in a housing. If the mixture inside the housing explodes, the latter prevents a transfer of the explosion to the mixtures surrounding the housing. The brake is equipped with four thermal circuit breakers and one micro-switch. The micro-switch prevents starting against the unlifted brake. The thermal circuit breakers are series-connected with the micro-switch and interrupt the control circuit of the machine as soon as there is an inadmissibly high temperature at the brake. The brake is seawater-resistant. By means of the attached hand lifting feature, the braking effect can be manually neutralized.

With its structural protection measures and its specific requirements the ATEX filter press complies with the ATEX directives. As a result, these types of filter presses are designed for a high level of safety and explosion protection. ATEX „ATMOSPHÈRES EXPLOSIBLES„ ATEX derives its name from the French term „ATmosphères EXplosibles”. It consists of two EU directives governing explosion protection and thus the equipment and working environment in an environment with an explosive atmosphere. ATEX filter presses are especially used in filtration processes in the chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas extraction, mining, food and waste water sectors. With their design, as well as the selected materials, they comply with all the requirements of the ATEX certification in potentially explosive areas.

Terrabox TCB030 is designed for direct installation in explosion hazard areas (Zone 1 or 21)and for connecting a clamp. Two clamps are connected when used for BIG BAG grounding. The dual-color indicator lamp signals the correct grounding state. The integrated contacts allow an enable circuit to be implemented.
