Trimmed for peak performance The construction industry is booming – and this has been the case for decades and all across the world. The need for new buildings, bridges and general infrastructure is constantly increasing. In terms of modern urban development, the demolition of buildings that are no longer up to date is part of everyday life. The stress on the tools used for this is easy to imagine. Demolition shears are used, for example, to cut angle iron or wire mesh, or to cut concrete ribs and steel rods. A clamping ring machine is a system for the automatic production of clamping rings. Schmale Maschinenbau Gmbh is one of the leading manufacturers of clamping ring machines in Europe. On our clamping ring machines, the strip material is profiled, bent and cut. Automatically closures are supplied and welded. The finished clamping ring is calibrated and stored. Via a servo-electric transfer, all processing stations are connected to each other and operated simultaneously. Thus, cycle rates of up to 28 clamping rings per minute can be realized.

Thermostatic valves - i.e. the temperature controls on the heating system - are found in just about every home. In the head of a thermostatic valve there is a metal bellows, a corrugated tube that expands according to the room air temperature. For these metal bellows, the manufacturer needed deep-drawn, very long and thin-walled sleeves. The challenge: the sleeves must be matched to the customer's downstream process under very tight tolerance specifications. Why? Because the sleeves cannot be further processed if the geometries vary.
