The PDR is recommended for applications where low viscous liquids are mixed turbulently in high tanks and where a top-entry mixer would be too heavy due to its shaft length and –diameter. The sealing between the agitator and the vessel is done by means of a single-acting, internal mechanical seal which is lubricated by the mixing product or an additional fluid The agitator shaft is connected to the drive directly with a flange coupling inside the seal housing. LRD - Top-entry sealed agitator The LRD series top-entry sealed agitator can be used for mixing in closed containers with a mechanical seal. It is designed with a coupling housing. The agitator shaft is borne in the bearing housing and the mechanical seal (single- or double-acting). The seal can be exchanged without dismantling the mixer from the tank (also in case of a side entry). Horizontal End-Suction Pumps are centrifugal inline pumps with a compact design where the impeller is mounted onto the extended motor shaft. These pumps are not self-priming and must be gravity fed. All pumps are equipped with a single mechanical seal. Upon request a second mechanical seal is available to allow for dry-running (-GD). This pump series is designed for horizontal installations next to a tank and for pumping air entrained coolant fluids, such as water-soluble coolants or cutting oils, as they occur in high speed turning, milling or grinding applications. The SBA pumps are equipped with the user-friendly (SAE) flange connection which allows for either vertical or horizontal pipe connection and the connection of a pressure gauge with G 1/4. In heavy duty applications, leak free performance and high service life cannot be assured by a single sealing element; therefore, specially developed ”system seals” are arranged in series, building a ”tandem configuration”. Each sealing element in a system has its specific function and their interaction needs to be secured to get a redundant sealing system. The primary seal in Zurcon® material has an excellent wear and extrusion resistance under extreme working conditions. It allows a fine lubrication film passing this first barrier, ensuring the necessary lubrication of the secondary sealing element for long service life. The ”tandem arrangement” requires an outstanding back-pumping ability of the primary seal and the secondary seal, if a double acting scraper is installed.

A single-acting sealing element consisting of a U-shaped Turcon® ring and a metallic V-shaped finger spring.
