Step by step: From taking the test sample up to the large-scale regeneration of your catalysts Stept 1: Sample taking Let us know when a sample can be taken from the SCR reactor. We will gladly do this for you. Step 2: Analysis Why is the catalyst no longer active? By an analysis of the catalyst sample we get a general overview about the chemical condition of the catalytyst. Step 3: Diagnosis By evaluation of the chemical analysis we find out the cause of the inactivation and determine the necessary regenerations steps. Step 4: Test Regeneration / Measurement Regenerations are executed under laboratory conditions to determine the ideal regeneration procedure. Activity (k) and SO2/SO3 conversion rate will be measured after this in the bench scale. Guarantees The results of the test regeneration are the basis for the guarantee values, which are part of a regeneration offer.

The IUQ has worked on various research projects in collaboration with universities and colleges. Here, Bachelor and Master theses were supervised. We also worked for research projects for the Federal Environment Agency (UFO-Plan). As part of industrial projects, research projects were implemented in the field of recycling and water treatment in collaboration with companies and universities.

We offer you the classification of 'old mineral wool' or such mineral fibres without RAL quality mark regarding their carcinogenic risk potential The carcinogenicity index, KI, is a dimensionless quantity and is determined according to the material composition of the mineral fibres to be evaluated. According to IFA / BIA method 7488, it is calculated from the sum of the mass contents (in MA-%) of Na2O, K2O, CaO, MgO, BaO and B2O3 minus twice the mass content of Al2O3. Vitreous mineral fibres are classified according to the KI according to TRGS 905 as follows, if their dimensions correspond to the WHO - fibre - definition: (length > 5µm, diameter < 3 µm, ratio length : diameter > 3 : 1) Glassy WHO fibres with a carcinogenicity index KI <= 30 are classified in category 1B. WHO vitreous fibres with a carcinogenicity index KI > 30 and KI < 40 are classified in category 2. WHO vitreous fibres shall not be classified as carcinogenic if their carcinogenicity index KI >= 40.

The term asbestos stands for a group of very resistant and non-flammable minerals with a fibrous structure. Until the beginning of the 1990s they were mainly used for thermal insulation or fire protection. Asbestos is found in brake pads and clutches, in electrical appliances, in machines and technical equipment, in heating systems and, above all, as a building material in a great many buildings. Asbestos fibres that enter the lungs can cause asbestosis, hardening and scarring of connective tissue, and cause cancer. In the meantime it has also been proven that asbestos substitutes, such as artificial mineral fibres, KMF, can cause cancer.

Over the last few years, we at EP-E have designed and introduced a series of primary standards for gases, designed for use in calibration laboratories. As a technology partner of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, our solutions are based on the highest standards. The EP gas bell plungers generate a volume flow which is traceable to the SI units length and time. The pistons are driven by a stepper motor via a spindle. In the initial state one piston is fully retracted and the other fully extended. The volume flow can be set with high precision via the piston cross section and the travel speed. At the end of the calibration process, both pistons are in the opposite position to the initial position. The calibration device is preferably operated with air, which can be supplied with up to 6 bar. The EP gas bell pistons convince by highest measuring accuracy up to 0.15% (k=2).

Memcell classic The MEMCELL plant has been developed to run laboratory trial with minimized effort. The plant is suitable for membrane screening, cleaning examinations, lab trials and quality management. All common flat sheet membranes can be used. The plant is suitable for the following processes: Ultrafiltration Nanofiltration Reverse osmosis The flat module corresponds in his hydraulic properties to a spiral wound element. So, examinations with the flat module can be used for up-scaling to pilot plant sizes. The flat cell is available with various spacers (30-44-80mil); to run the plant with another spacer, only the middle part of the test cell has to be changed. On permeate side, there is a porous sinter plate to guarantee a steady permeate flow. So, a reliable scale-up is possible. For membrane manufacturer or technical institutes, the MemCell is available on request with parallel or seriell connection of more than one test cell. Construction of customized pilot plants Osmo Membrane Systems GmbH is very experienced in layout, manufacturing and start-up of pilot plants. From a container-installed plant which can be designed frost-proof, up to commercial Pilot plants with remote control and online integration, our product range covers a multitude of applications. Depending on the task, we rent an existing pilot plants or we design a new one. Our product range covers laboratory plants like our plant “MemCell” up to large scale plants. The plants can be delivered with an individual visualization. So, this includes data logging and remote control. By request, the plants may be delivered with a customized visualisation system. You are able with the process control system (PCS) to control the plant and a measurement data logging / interpretation system is implemented too. On customers request a secured remote maintenance and remote control will be also installed.
