SCHMIDT Zerspanungstechnik uses state-of-the-art metal working machines to apply the finishing touches SCHMIDT Zerspanungstechnik's modern milling machines make it possible to custom-machine work pieces to extremely high precision during contract manufacturing work. Our machinery includes several universal machining centres and computer-controlled CNC milling machines; among them column, bed and gantry milling machines. 5-axis milling technology allows the machine to position and move the milling cutter at any angle to the workpiece which makes producing extremely complex 3D contours possible. In addition to this, our machines offers qualitative benefits in that almost all points to be machined can be reached without having to re-clamp the work piece. We also have fully controlled rotary index tables and indexing heads, and work with magnetic and vacuum clamping systems. We're able to machine work pieces of up to 10,000 mm in size.

The DDA Direct Drive Motor is a rotary actuator that directly drives a rotary table with a motor without using any speed reducing mechanism such as a belt or reduction gears. Eliminating the speed reducing mechanism explains why high speed and excellent response can be attained with such a compact frame. The series includes models designed for high torque and high payload up to 90 or 270 kg. This makes it very easy, for example, to integrate rotary indexing tables in an automation system.

This model is well suited for efficient, economical processing of circular workpieces via surface and step grinding operations. There is no lost time through deceleration, acceleration and reversal as with conventional reciprocation grinding. The grinding wheel remains in contact with the workpiece throughout the grinding process. Single workpieces can be located centrically on the table while multiple workpieces can be located concetrically to optimize table space utilization. A tilting table option allows grinding of chamfers or blade edges (i.e. circular blades), where the table can be tilted +/- 5 degrees. The high-precision rotary table is belt driven. This machine is offered with the xpressCube SPS controls package. A software option is available for step grinding operations. Benefit Overview — Compact and robust machine design — High productivity through continuous contact between wheel and workpiece — High long-term precision — Precision rotary table — Easy to operate
