Challenge To execute a pilot project at the Energisa distribution network operator in Brazil within a tight time frame. The customer needed to install 23 kV outdoor circuit breakers with protection at a newly erected substation. Solution Tavrida Electric supplied the Rec25 with substation mounting kit to meet the deadline and satisfy the customer’s requirements in terms of protection. The mounting kit was subjected to comprehensive mechanical tests including overweighting, wind load and seismic impact with successful results.

Thousands of nodding donkey oil pumps were energized through an extensive and highly meshed overhead electrical network. Automated protection was performed only by the feeder CB at the substation. Maintenance and repair work on the natural gas network is generally carried out with the pipeline being gas-free, so the relevant pipe sections are isolated by installing valve assemblies and the gas in the isolated section is vented to atmosphere. By using our mobile compressors – individually or in highly efficient parallel operation – the network operator can transfer the gas from the isolated pipe section to another part of the system so it does not have to be vented to atmosphere. Connection points for the mobile compressors are available e.g. in the area of the main line valves or can generally be retrofitted. It makes economic sense to transfer the gas to another as this guarantees responsible handling of this primary energy source and makes a substantial contribution to protecting the environment. The CANopen-PN can link any PROFINET IO controller to a CANopen network. The gateway operates as a PROFINET IO device with a maximum of 1440 bytes input data and 1440 bytes output data on the PROFINET IO bus. The CANopen-PN connects CANopen modules with CANopen (CiA 301) applications to e.g. a SIMATIC-S7. A maximum number of 127 CANopen nodes can be connected to the gateway. The CAN high speed (ISO 11898-2) compatible interface allows a maximum data-transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s. The 100 BASE-TX PROFINET IO interface is compatible to IEEE802.3 and runs at 100 Mbit/s. The gateway is designed according to PROFIBUS International Document TC2-09-0002 (CANopen-Integration_7012 d07_Jul09). The PROFINET IO interface and the CAN interface are electrically isolated. The module can be configured via PROFINET IO configuration tool GSDML- Composer. The esd CAN tools (CANreal, CANplot, CANrepro, CANscript, COBview) can be used additionally for CAN diagnostics.
