Sewage sludge dewatering offers enormous potential savings for operators of sewage treatment plants. Dewatering sludge means reducing the quantity of sludge for disposal. Depending on system capacity, 1 percent more dry substance can lead to cost savings in the five- to six-digit range. The dewatering performance of the Flottweg Xelletor Series is significantly better than even its predecessors. In small sewage treatment plants, investment costs play a decisive role. In stationary dewatering systems, for example, the construction of a new building can be significantly costly. You can avoid those costs with mobile container systems for sludge dewatering. Container-based solutions are a practical alternative to fixed dewatering installations.. We know the special requirements of the wastewater industry. Flottweg therefore decided to create a new decanter series solely manufactured for sludge separation, called the Flottweg C Series.

Flottweg C series decanters around the world process 25 million liters of sewage sludge per hour. The dewatering and thickening of sewage sludge plays a decisive role in the wastewater treatment process. Requirements for the quality and efficiency of sewage treatment plants increase year after year, not least driven by the increasing costs of energy and disposal. As a result, the state of the art is now to use decanter centrifuges to dewater and/or thicken the incoming sludge. Flottweg developed the decanters of the C series especially for this purpose. The C7E represents the largest of all the C machines. The C7E increases the proportion of dry substance in the sludge, thereby reducing its volume and weight (due to loss of water). That means that operators need to dispose of, recycle, or burn less sludge. The result: enormous potential savings for the operators of sewage treatment plants.

Flottweg has developed a unique centrifuge concept especially for the high-level dewatering of sewage sludge: The Flottweg Xelletor series. For the wastewater treatment plant operator, dewatering offers enormous savings potential. The costs for transport and disposal of dewatered sewage sludge often account for 80% of the operating costs of mechanical dewatering. The dewatering performance of the Xelletor machine is significantly better than that of our predecessor models. And it's setting new standards in terms of throughput, dry substance, and polymer and energy consumption.

Honored with the German Innovation Award 2019, the Xelletor series is one of the greatest achievements in the field of sewage sludge. Dewatering sewage sludge is standard for wastewater treatment plants and since it usually has to be transported away, operators have an interest in separating as much water as possible from the sludge. This saves weight and thus reduces costs. Savings of up to 10% in sludge volume and 34% in energy consumption are possible. Proven know-how meets state-of-the-art technology. This is the best way to describe the new Flottweg decanter C series. We also have the optimal solution for the very large wastewater treatment plants. The combination of our own Simp Drive® drive system, which has been in use since 1994, and Recuvane®, which allows flexible and simple retrofitting as well as targeted discharge of the centrate water, sets new standards for Flottweg in separation technology.

In the process of treating waste water, fine biological sludge is constantly produced during the decomposition process at a sewage treatment plant. For a stable decomposition process in the biological treatment phase, the sludge produced in the secondary sedimentation pond, also known as excess sludge, is removed and fed into the digestion tower. Flottweg's OSE decanters thicken the sludge before it enters the digestion tower. Sewage treatment plants benefit from an even feeding of the digestion tower and can thus optimally use the volume of the digestion tower. The BTS 8101.EO O-frame is based on the combisensor principle. The system is equipped with a non-contact capacitive sensors and a Thrubeam sensor which are integrated in a traversing frame. The eddy current sensor measures the reference distance to the measurement roll‘s metal surface. The distance from the film surface is measured by the Thrubeam sensor. Together with the reference signal the film thickness is calculated. This combisensor principle allows extreme precise measurements.

The quality of electrode film is crucial for increasing the performance of future battery generations. In order to generate higher energy densities, coating and calendering processes must be performed with the highest precision. Micro-Epsilon offers high-precision measuring systems for the thickness measurement of coated and uncoated battery film. These systems are equipped with high-resolution sensors and increase process stability, production speed and quality in modern coating lines.

White light interferometers use infrared light in the non-visible range (approx. 840 nm wavelength), which means that the measurement position cannot be seen. To visualize the measuring position, Micro-Epsilon systems are equipped with a pilot laser which projects a light spot onto the measuring position. In addition, the pilot laser uses a patented method to provide feedback on the distance in addition to the measurement position. If the measuring object is at the correct distance and within the measuring range, a constant glow is emitted by the pilot laser. If the measuring object is outside the measuring range, the pilot laser flashes.

Engineering-processes in aviation are among the most challenging we handle. Complex components for extreme applications and increasing requirements for material and energy efficiency shape development and manufacturing. Crack testing with fluorescent substances is a well-established procedure for safety-critical components exposed to high loads. The vastly different, and often very large-scale dimensions of components used in aviation present a unique challenge. These require systems to include transportation equipment and containers sized to fit. Precisely timing individual chemical testing steps is another, even more challenging aspect. We also develop and manufacture the equipment used to handle components within our systems. Perfectly planned and executed, our equipment ensures systems as efficient as they are reliable.

Intelligent Storage Management With the ISM 400 you can flexibly store 7“, 13“ and 15“ reels, trays, tubes, printed circuit boards, well equipped feeder, solding pastes or screen printing frames manually and monitor their insertion and extraction. The different configuration possibilities of the ISM 400 satisfy the storage needs of the most varied types of components as well as operational and consumable resources of a modern SMT production. With the help of the optional humidity control module it is possible to constantly adjust and monitor the humidity level within the system.

Intelligent Storage Management The ISM 500, JUKIs intelligent dynamic storage solution, has been developed to satisfy the storage needs of the most varied types of components. With the possibility to configure up to 640 different positions, the operator can insert 7″, 13″ and 15″ reels, JEDEC trays, SMT and THT tubes, screen printing frames and foils, THT components etc.

Intelligent Storage Management The flexible storage solution of the ISM 1100 allows flexible storage, intelligent monitoring as well as fully automatic insertion and extraction of up to 1,100 7“ reels on an effective area of just 1.6 m². During the fully automatic insertion and extraction of up to 27 reels there is no user intervention necessary.

Intelligent Storage Management The intelligent storage management system of the ISM 2000 has been specifically designed to obtain optimum performance regarding storage capacity and total size. The automated system allows fast insertion and extraction of reels and trays stored in standard cases, while the patented multiple outlet enables the simultaneous extraction and insertion of up to 27 reels at a time. Optionally, a module for automatic wireless extraction is available as well as a humidity control unit to control humidity of all of the components inside the ISM systems.

Using the ISM UltraFlex 3600 you will be able to flexibly store up to 3,644 reels, monitor them intelligently as well as oversee the fully automatic import and export of the components.

Intelligent Storage Management Designed as an extension module for the ISM UltraFlex 3600, JUKI’s ISM UltraFlex 3900 offers a thought out solution to efficiently use space in the warehouse by simply and quickly doubling storage capacities. JUKI’s ISM UltraFlex 3900 is a real space wonder allowing storage of up to 7,500 (7“ and 15“) reels in combination with JUKI’s ISM UltraFlex 3600. Operation and handling is exclusively done via the ISM UltraFlex 3600. Needless to say that all reels are stored fully automatic, very flexible and monitored intelligently.

NORIMOS 4 – The High Performance PLC-based Alarm, Monitoring and Control System The N4 is our alarm, monitoring and control system (AMCS) for highest demands in operating comfort, usability, flexibility and system availability and is based on our NORISYS 4 open automation platform. It is used to monitor and control ship technology, such as engines and other auxiliary systems. The N4 is a PLC (IEC 61131) based AMCS with decentrally placed subsystems. Each subsystem is operating independently with a high performance I/O CPU master and its slave units and is connected to the other subsystems. The system is based on extremely robust components, can be used flexibly and furthermore, it can be extended with a comprehensive package of standard functions on request: whether as a simple data acquisition system, alarm and monitoring system, with additional control functions for pumps, valves and fans, or even fuel level measurement or power management.

The N3500 (NORIMOS 3500) is our cost-efficient alarm, monitoring and control system for engines and auxiliary systems. The system is based on two central, redundant PC master stations. They collect and monitor the measurement data from the connected I/O modules. With up to 9,000 I/Os, a matching alarm extension system for accommodation and a monitoring display for the bridge, the system can be easily extended and adapted to any application. The N3500 is based on robust components and can be used flexibly: from simple data acquisition systems up to complex alarm and monitoring systems with integrated control functions for pumps, valves and fans. The system is approved by all conventional shipbuilding classification societies (ABS, BV, CCS, DNV-GL) and thus, is the ideal companion for all aspects of the monitoring and control of shipboard propulsion systems.

We develop and manufacture intelligent automation solutions for engines, gear-boxes and auxiliary systems in one-off or series production. Each solution is manufactured according to your wishes and requirements and can be easily extended with additional displays and operating panels for decentral visualisation and operation. The intuitive visualisation is based on the powerful CODESYS software suite (IEC 61131) and can be adapted to your corporate design. All components are suitable for applications in harsh environments and ensure maximum operational reliability. The use of a computeraided system is well suited for the control and regulation of distillation and rectification plants the wide range of measurement and regulating tasks, the need for flexibility, ease of operation and a display of the operating parameters make the use of a computer with the relevant software and peripherals appear the ideal solution.
