Based on our many years of experience in developing and manufacturing high-quality machine components, GMN has specialized in the area of high-precision ball bearings as well as the production of high-performance and long-lived deep groove and spindle ball bearings to meet – or even exceed – the highest precision classes P4 and ABEC 7. Certification under international standards ensures the highest precision in the development and manufacturing of GMN ball bearings and guarantees constant, outstanding qualities related to speed suitability, stability and longevity. The broad product range includes a large selection of standard solutions as well as requirements-tailored special designs.

GMN offers a complete range of sizes, types and designs with its spindle ball bearings in standard sizes S, SM and KH. In conventionally oil-lubricated spindle bearings, lubricant is supplied through a lateral oil supply. GMN spindle bearing designs +A, +AB, +L and +LB provide direct oil supplies to the lubrication point through a bore in the outer ring. GMN spindle bearing designs +AG ensure the highest possible machine running times without complex oil supply systems. These feed the lubricant directly into the lubricating point through holes in the outer ring. The developed high-performance, separable BNT and BHT designs ensure fast and uncomplicated handling, especially with regard to assembly and maintenance.

The use of high-precision radial groove ball bearings is especially recommended when axial forces are supported in two directions, but the installation space makes the use of a spindle bearing pair impossible; plus when the best-possible guide for rotating components is needed, but the RPM requirements are less important. Depending upon the load capability and the installation space available, GMN provides deep groove ball bearings in sizes 60 and 62 as per DIN 625. A large selection of various cages, lubricants and covers make it possible to adapt GMN deep groove ball bearings to any application.

Based on the SL series, the SLT probes are also characterized by an ultra robust construction and a fully stainless steel housing which makes them suitable for harsh environments. The combination of a hardchrome plated shaft with 6 mm in diameter and precision bearings guarantees highest resistance to lateral forces on the push rod. There are three different functional variants available to meet the demands of most measuring tasks: ■ Spring loaded mechanism: The push rod is fully extended by an internal spring. ■ Pneumatic version 1: The push rod extends by applying pressurized air. An internal spring retracts the push rod after releasing the pressure. ■ Pneumatic version 2: The push rod retracts by applying pressurized air. An internal spring extends the push rod after releasing the pressure. Each sensor requires a carrier frequency measuring amplifier to operate, which evaluates and transforms the sensors signal to a standardised analog output signal of 0...10 V or 4...

Angle encoder modules from HEIDENHAIN are combinations of angle encoders and high-precision bearings that are optimally adjusted to each other. They are characterized by their high degree of measuring and bearing accuracy, their very high resolution, as well as optimum repeatability. The low starting torque permits smooth motions. SRP angle encoder modules are additionally equipped with an integrated torque motor. They therefore combine a motor, precision bearing and encoder with very high accuracy in one compact system. The torque motor with its very low detent torque enables extraordinarily smooth motion control. Neither disruptive detent torques nor radial forces impair the high guideway accuracy of the bearing. Thanks to their design as completely specifi ed and tested composite assemblies, handling and installation is very simple.

The MCP40 potentiometers with precision ball bearings and servo flange are suitable for applications where a very long life with very high linearity and precisely mountable sensor is important. The precision potentiometers of the MCP40 series are designed for high demands on accuracy and reliability. They have outstanding linearity and excellent life expectancy. The sensor is available in a high-resistance version for power-saving requirements. The potentiometer is equipped with a servo flange for precise mounting. In closed loop controlled systems, the conductive plastic potentiometers can be used particularly advantageously. As passive components, they do not cause any dead times due to immediate signal availability, and the signal is continuous without steps available. Setup Since HEIDENHAIN manufactures the bearings as well as the encoders, the two functional assemblies are highly integrated. Fewer components are necessary than in conventional solutions, resulting in fewer joints. This permits a very compact and rigid design, with particularly low overall heights. Currently, angle encoder modules with hollow shafts of 35 mm and 100 mm are available.

The MCP30 potentiometers with precision ball bearings and servo flange are suitable for applications where a very long life with high linearity and precisely mountable sensor is important. The precision potentiometers of the MCP30 series are designed for high demands on accuracy and reliability. They have good linearity and excellent life expectancy. The potentiometer is equipped with a servo flange for precise mounting. In closed loop controlled systems, the conductive plastic potentiometers can be used particularly advantageously.
