One particular challenge in the refrigerator recycling process is presented by chlorofluorocarbons such as R 11, R 12 or R 141b, which were used for decades as foaming agents for insulation materials. Since these substances damage the Earth’s ozone layer when released, they must be removed and collected securely in a closed-system pre-processing plant. With ERDWICH, you are assured of the latest, technologically advanced solutions: Whether you’re handling small-scale units or complex refrigeration plant: utilise the expertise we’ve gained in processing over 30 million refrigerator units. In the process of treating waste water, fine biological sludge is constantly produced during the decomposition process at a sewage treatment plant. For a stable decomposition process in the biological treatment phase, the sludge produced in the secondary sedimentation pond, also known as excess sludge, is removed and fed into the digestion tower. Flottweg's OSE decanters thicken the sludge before it enters the digestion tower. Sewage treatment plants benefit from an even feeding of the digestion tower and can thus optimally use the volume of the digestion tower. The Flottweg OSE decanter is specially designed for sludge thickening. ► Highest gas yield through constant feeding of the digestion tower ► Best possible thickening even with changing feed conditions ► Larger sedimentation volume (due to deep pond and steep cone) enables highest power density (10 - 20 percent) with minimum space requirement

“Belladonna” Atropa belladonna – in use medically since ancient times, this solanaceous herb is among the most dangerous poisonous plants in Europe and was named after Atropos (inevitable, from greek mythology). In Renaissance Italy the pupil-dilating effects of the poison Hyoscyamin led to the name "bella donna" (Italian: "beautiful woman"). Half plant and half woman the sculpture is a symbol of duality, tension and beauty in life. This 2 metres high sculpture is the work of over 2000 hours and made mainly from Murano glass. The artist Irene Magdalena Orecher concieved perfectly the colours reflecting the symbolic drama of life, from the calm blue-green through the ominous purple to the vibrant red and vivid bright yellow. Shining stainless steel edging underscores the shape of the sculpture, combining both ancient and contemporary art forms. The metal works were created in cooperation with Berndt Schweizer, Master Craftsman.
