Rotationally symmetrical driving gears in a line producing for automotive industry are mutually connected by electron beam welding. The camera inspection carried out until was not able to assess the quality of the weld seams at the required precision. Non-contact laser measurement system Particular Challenge: As the welding seams show a high reflectivity and are located at a position hard to access, inspection is difficult, all the more so as they dispose of a width of only 500µm. Therefore it is quite a challenge for the laser measurement system. The QuellTech solution: A QuellTech Laser Scanner Q4-5 with extremely small shape factor and high resolution proved to be perfectly suited for this application. In order to suppress reflections from elements in the surroundings, a particular algorithm has been integrated. Furthermore, this laser measurement system features a particularly adapted laser wavelength and an ultrafine laser line.

In its sensor housing, the combiSENSOR combines two displacement sensors. This unique sensor concept enables one-sided thickness measurement of electrically non-conductive materials on metallic objects. Its field of application is the thickness measurement of plastic film or of plastic coating on metal plates. The eddy current sensor penetrates the plastic layer and measures the distance to a metallic material underneath it, e.g. a metal plate. The capacitive sensor synchronously detects the distance to the plastic material. The thickness is determined based on the difference of both sensor signals.

The optoNCDT1420 offers a unique combination of speed, size, performance and application versatility for displacement, distance and position measurements. The compact triangulation sensor achieves a high measurement accuracy and measuring rates of up to 8kHz. The selectable connector type, i.e. cable or pigtail, together with compact size reduce the sensor installation effort to a minimum. Just like all triangulation sensors from Micro-Epsilon, the optoNCDT 1420 provides an intelligent surface regulation. The Active Surface Compensation (ASC) ensures stable measurement results regardless of changing surface colours or brightness. The high-performance optical system generates a small light spot which enables to even detect smallest components reliably.

TOPTICA's beat detection consists of two flexible modules: DFC BC and DFC MD. Separating beam combination and beat detection into two units allows for placing them at different locations. The DFC BC and DFC MD units are specifically designed for a combination of the DFC with TOPTICA's DL pro tunable diode laser series, but can also be used with other cw lasers.

The laser offers superior temporal and spatial beam quality, which are developed and optimized for ophthalmologic applications. The FemtoFiber vario 1030 provides large flexibility with respect to the laser parameters and features continuously adjustable pulse duration and pulse energy and a highly adjustable repetition rate down to pulse-on-demand.
