NORIMOS 4 – The High Performance PLC-based Alarm, Monitoring and Control System The N4 is our alarm, monitoring and control system (AMCS) for highest demands in operating comfort, usability, flexibility and system availability and is based on our NORISYS 4 open automation platform. It is used to monitor and control ship technology, such as engines and other auxiliary systems. The N4 is a PLC (IEC 61131) based AMCS with decentrally placed subsystems. Each subsystem is operating independently with a high performance I/O CPU master and its slave units and is connected to the other subsystems. The system is based on extremely robust components, can be used flexibly and furthermore, it can be extended with a comprehensive package of standard functions on request: whether as a simple data acquisition system, alarm and monitoring system, with additional control functions for pumps, valves and fans, or even fuel level measurement or power management.

thermoIMAGER TIM 160S infrared cameras are designed for stationary thermography providing an excellent price/performance ratio. These thermal imaging cameras are connected via USB 2.0 to a computer and are promptly ready for use. Various interfaces enable their integration into networks and automated systems.

We attach great importance to ease of operation and versatile plant functions. The control technology of our plants and the regulation technology for fully automated systems is always executed with the highest degree of accuracy and care. The communication between the plants and systems (PLC/PC/panels) can be implemented with various interfaces such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi-bus, Ethernet network, etc. Remote maintenance or connection to an ERP system via the Internet are also possible.

Our plants and systems can be integrated into your own conveyor line or designed as completely automated systems. Metzner has a clear understanding of the future and transforms existing processes into fully automated system solutions. Workstations that were previously operated separately are now combined into fully automatic production lines. The starting point of an automatic processing line is the cable that is wound on a reel. The end result is a finished cable with a completely assembled plug system

Automatically controlled systems In automated systems, parts are moved through the plant using a hoist in a fully-automatic, PLC controlled process. The bath parameters, the exposure time for parts in the baths, and the process steps are all saved in the PLC. The system runs through the process fully automatically. Operating personnel are primarily responsible for monitoring the system. Fully automated systems can significantly optimize manufacturing processes for small and large-scale series production through precision and economic efficiency (consumption quantities, energy management).  

Intelligent Storage Management The intelligent storage management system of the ISM 2000 has been specifically designed to obtain optimum performance regarding storage capacity and total size. The automated system allows fast insertion and extraction of reels and trays stored in standard cases, while the patented multiple outlet enables the simultaneous extraction and insertion of up to 27 reels at a time. Optionally, a module for automatic wireless extraction is available as well as a humidity control unit to control humidity of all of the components inside the ISM systems.

The N3500 (NORIMOS 3500) is our cost-efficient alarm, monitoring and control system for engines and auxiliary systems. The system is based on two central, redundant PC master stations. They collect and monitor the measurement data from the connected I/O modules. With up to 9,000 I/Os, a matching alarm extension system for accommodation and a monitoring display for the bridge, the system can be easily extended and adapted to any application. The N3500 is based on robust components and can be used flexibly: from simple data acquisition systems up to complex alarm and monitoring systems with integrated control functions for pumps, valves and fans. The system is approved by all conventional shipbuilding classification societies (ABS, BV, CCS, DNV-GL) and thus, is the ideal companion for all aspects of the monitoring and control of shipboard propulsion systems.

We develop and manufacture intelligent automation solutions for engines, gear-boxes and auxiliary systems in one-off or series production. Each solution is manufactured according to your wishes and requirements and can be easily extended with additional displays and operating panels for decentral visualisation and operation. The intuitive visualisation is based on the powerful CODESYS software suite (IEC 61131) and can be adapted to your corporate design. All components are suitable for applications in harsh environments and ensure maximum operational reliability. The iFischer® DIST D2892 MC/ FISCHER® AUTODEST® 800 MC is an automated, computer controlled and PC operated unit of turnkey design, ready for use after installation and commissioning. The system is fully housed and equipped with doors in the front and rear to satisfy safety requirements and to facilitate service aspects. A respective design as per ASTM D5236 (Postill) is also available.

Fully Automated/Computerized Distillation System for fractionating of crude oil samples, atmospheric residues resp. vacuum distillations of lubricating oil samples up to very low operation pressure (high vacuum HV Operation pressures down to 0.005 mmHg, allowing fraction temperatures up to 600 °C AET). The unit is equipped with an automatic fraction collector (FC) and combined automatic fraction discharge into final receivers, which are closed automatically. The fraction volumes and weights are determined by builtin volume follower system and internal balance (included software "FCExtension" allows to operate very narrow fractions by using max. 40 receivers).

The use of a computeraided system is well suited for the control and regulation of distillation and rectification plants the wide range of measurement and regulating tasks, the need for flexibility, ease of operation and a display of the operating parameters make the use of a computer with the relevant software and peripherals appear the ideal solution.
