ECKOLD extrusion embossing allows for direct screwing in sheet metal and does away with press-fitted or welded nuts. The embossed structure formed in the process increases the number of turns for the screw and thus enhances its grip. In addition, extrusion embossing allows for higher torques than would be possible with simple screwing of multiple sheets. The technique is suitable for use in virtually all industries where sheet metal is machined and joined - stationary, robot-controlled or as a punch press system. AMZ stands for automated material loading. AMZ enables automated loading of metal bars into our punching machines. Different materials types (thickness/width) can be processed successively. This only requires a short manual intervention when changing the type of metal bars, which allows for an ideal preparation of the production process. As soon as the machine has been started, the operator no longer needs to deal with feeding in the material, and can sort and further process the production parts during this time. The AMZ can also be seen as a small intermediate storage facility.

A perfect combination of space savings and dynamics: the GSW Compact Feed Lines Our Compact Feed Lines are an ideal answer to the challenge of a constraint floor and necessity to process thick materials. Marrying the processes of leveling and indexing into one Feeder-Straightener machine allows for a complete Feed Line with only two individual machines and thus greatly reduces the necessary length. Additionally, the decoupling of the coil mass from the indexing process – achieved through a short loop between Coil Reel and Feeder-Straightener – enables dynamic feeding despite the compact footprint. And, if cross-sections are especially big, the loop can be spared completely, creating yet more space. One more advantage, virtually a by-product out of their very nature, is the quicker set-up of our Compact Feed Lines. This elevates them to not only space- but also time-savers!

With Conventional Feed Lines, the focus lies on speed and material surface. That’s why Conventional Feed Lines are equipped with a Coil Reel for pull-off, a Straightener with variable frequency drive a coil loop and a Servo Roll Feed: the loop uncouples the more inert straightening process from the highly dynamic indexing process and thus allows for high line speeds and preservation of the material surface. Since productivity and capacity demands can vary significantly, we have created different control concepts: while small Feed Lines work with a simple pneumatic drag brake at the Coil Reel and an ultrasonic sensor to control the Straightener speed, the large Feed Lines get fully synchronized controls with motor-limited Coil Reels and a smart loop, creating a steady average speed of the whole line. This allows smooth pull-off of high coil weights while the loop remains very calm – in addition, the Servo Roll Feed can work with full dynamics, even at long indexing progressions.

With automatic continuous punching machines, machine and tool merge into a high-performance system with high output and remarkable flexibility. Whether sealing profiles for the automotive industry, applications for furniture, or household appliances – complex trimming is often required here. Thanks to the Metzner automatic throughfeed punching machines, processing operations such as contour cutting, drilling and milling can be integrated into a throughfeed system. All these machines store all machining parameters and machine settings in a machining recipe. When starting production, an integrated barcode scanner activates all presettings on the basis of the working papers and simultaneously reports the correct tool and material on the machine display. The barcode also contains the required quantities and lengths. Thanks to well thought-out quick-change systems, tools and materials are generally changed within no more than 30 seconds, minimizing downtimes.

The RVU grinding machines set new standards in highprecision machining and are especially suitable for high precision grinding applications in the bearing and aerospace industries. The range can be equipped with up to four watercooled grinding spindles which can achieve a performance of 45 kW at 18,000 rev/min. (according to the type of grinding wheel selected) The RVU facilitates a complete machining processing without interruption as optional dressing units, grinding wheel changers and workpiece measurement are available. Additional options for hard metal machining boring and workpiece measurement increase the possible applications of the machine series considerably.
