The latest addition to the RUF Maschinenbau portfolio, the low-cost RUF Formica, is a new briquetting system designed for the metals industries. Configured for small to mid sized batches in a wide range of applications, it frees a lot of storage space and simplifies logistics, making it in addition an attractive investment for production companies generating only small chip quantities.

When melting briquettes, combustion is significantly lower and results in a higher melting yield than with loose chips. Depending on the need, our briquette systems are equipped with hydraulic motors between 4 and 90 kW. They will achieve a specific pressure of up to 5,000 kg/cm². Self-clinch studs (flush head studs) are fasteners that have a serration under the head. At inserting into the metal sheet it presses the displaced material into the rivet ring to secure the fastener. Advantages: • high resistance to torque strain • no damage of coated surfaces - ideal for sheet panels • always vertical to the sheet • head is flush on the metal sheet after insertion

Self-clinch standoffs can serve as spacers or distance pieces. The hexagon head is simply pressed into the metal sheet, that the material will compress in the nut. The pressing in at the head finishes completely flush. A wide selection of open or closed versions is available. For applications with high strain versions with larger heads and higher compressive tensile strengths can be produced.

Proximity sensors are based on the proven inductive principle - switches con tactless when metallic objects come close due to the inductive dampening of a resonant circuit. Factor 1 sensors are used where different metals from steel to aluminium should be detected. They are, for example, used for the occupation control of presses, where different metals are used all the time.
