Cable Type Heaters have initially been developed and used for the safe operation in fertilizer plants. However nowadays, they cover a large range of applications due to their modular construction and minimum space requirements. They are suitable for heating up nearly all gases and liquids or superheating steam. They are mainly used in hazardous areas. Especially when processes require a combination of high power (in the MW range) high pressure and temperatures of up to 550°C cable type heaters are the means to choose.

Through integration of the segmented disc valve technology, the desuperheater type 5090 is able to control steam pressure and temperature in the steam network easily. By using four injection nozzles and finely tuned water conditioning, process steam is generated from superheated steam at 3 20 K above the saturated steam temperature.

Assembly lubrication of screw connections of high-strength steel subject to high temperatures, corrosive influences in chemically aggressive environments, e.g. on gas and steam turbines in power plants, combustion engines, threads on pipe fittings, flange joints and fittings in superheated steam lines, exhaust pipe and combustion chamber screwed connections etc. Parting lubrication of materials with a tendency to seize up, e.g. V2A, V4A and high-temperature steels Advantages and benefits Excellently suited for preventing seizing and binding Highly effective against corrosion affects Free of lead compounds, sulphides, chlorides and fluorides For best adhesion, clean the threads and sliding surfaces from dirt and other lubricants. Best way is to clean mechanically first and then with OKS 2610 or OKS 2611 universal cleaner. Apply paste evenly in sufficient amount onto head/nut support and thread or onto the sliding areas with brush, spatula, etc.

BORSIG patented steam superheaters are suitable for steam pressures of up to 160 bar (16,000 kPa). The steam superheaters are arranged direct in line after the waste heat boilers which are connected to the secondary reformer or reformer – depending on the process. The steam superheater can be provided as two stage or one stage, horizontally or vertically arranged. The final design arrangement is determined by the process requirements. We have delivered steam superheaters for superheating saturated steam at a pressure stage of 12,500 kPa from 328 °C to 531 °C by cooling down process gas from 723 °C to 355 °C.

The all-in-one solution Already the basic version of the OPTISWIRL 4200 is equipped with a temperature compensation for saturated steam applications. With the optional pressure sensor the OPTISWIRL 4200 has an integrated density compensation available, which even allows an exact measurement of gases and superheated steam with varying process conditions. The additional integrated gross and net heat measurement makes the OPTISWIRL 4200 to be a reliable partner for advanced energy management systems. The OPTISWIRL 4200 was designed for the safety-related applications from the very beginning. It was developed according to the standard IEC 61508 edition 2. The certification is effected within the scope of a Full Assessment by TÜV Süd. Thereby the OPTISWIRL 4200 can be used for continuous volume flow measurement in safety-related applications with classification SIL2.
