In the area of elastomer technology, the Zimmer Group uses the most modern production processes to manufacture sophisticated workpieces from elastomers. In addition to the transfer molding process, in which the elastomer is placed in a mold, pressed into shape with a die and vulcanized under pressure and heat, we also use the injection transfer molding process. Here, the starting materials are pressed into the mold on an injection molding machine and vulcanize out there. With these two processes, we process a wide range of elastomers such as NBR, silicone, EPDM, FPM or polyurethane. In terms of quantities as well as dimensions, the sky's the limit, because we can manufacture almost any quantity required, from special solutions in quantities of one to medium-sized small batches and large series of more than 10,000 units.

Heating bands are the ideal solution for the heating of tubes an cylinders. Mica band heaters, frequently used as nozzle heaters, are made with a plastic-tight stainless steel casing. Such mica heating bands are in many dimension available from stock. The Ceramic heating band type is suitable specially for applications with high watt density and therefore for higher temperatures. Ceramic band heaters, also known as ceramic ring heaters or cylindrical ceramic sectional heaters, are attached to the contact surface by means of a clamping mechanism. A preferred field of use for ceramic band heaters is the heating of plasticising cylinders, bushings and nozzles of injection moulding machines and screw barrels of extrusion machines. For thermal optimization and process control ceramic band heaters can also be offered with insulation jackets or air cooling.

Constant changes in our customers' markets mean that solutions must be quickly implemented. Robot applications by ruhlamat are characterized by extremely rapid handling times compared to the competition. Robots, as the core of automated solutions, offer the advantage of being easily convertible and have a high level of flexibility for the integration of variants and / or new processes. In doing so, ruhlamat integrates all popular robot applications from different manufacturers, depending on the requirements of the customer, or assimilates existing robotics expertise into your production and/or assembly. The application range is endless! Whether as a pure handling device (e.g. extraction cells from injection moulding machines, pick and place) or as the centrepiece of hybrid assembly cells (i.e. work content split between operator and robot): simple convertibility and operational flexibility guarantee the highest possible investment security with high operational...

In the injection moulding process TPE pellets are fed into the machine through a hopper and then into a heated barrel. The heat from the barrel turns the material into a liquid resin which is then injected into a closed mould under high pressure. After allowing the molten polymer to cool, the finished part can be removed from the mould. Injection moulding is a high-volume, high tooling cost process, the advanced properties of our TPE compounds deliver short cycle times allowing parts to be produced at a rapid rate. The information below is intended as a general overview, settings may vary depending on the specific grade selected. Please CONTACT US for detailed processing information Settings Equipment Conventional injection moulding machine Compression set At least 2:1. Special screws with short sections and higher compression ratios (3:1 to 4:1) may be good at low screw speeds Shrinkage Between 1.0% and 2.5% depending on the grade, type of application and location of the gate. Rope Length Transmitter with high precision analog or digital encoders The determination of measuring lengths in the range of one up to several meters is preferably carried out by using well priced and easy-tomount transducers on the basis of the draw wire measuring principle. In connection with measuring problems of industrial applications e.g. on - cranes, drilling machines and excavators - pressing, punching and injection moulding machines - weirs and lock gates - multilevel shelving rack systems and theatre stages - wood- and stone-working machines and also in - instrument engineering, high-tech medical devices etc. Rope length measuring systems series SL 3000 have proven for years to be very reliable, capable of measuring lengths up to 40 m with high accuracy and reliability even in extremely dusty and moist atmospheres.
