Lotions are emulsions or suspensions based on water or alcohol. Unlike creams, lotions contain oil instead of fat, are therefore more fluid than creams and easier to apply to the skin. Usually, lotions contain little or no alcohol, which makes them attractive even for sensitive skin. Lotions are used to treat, care for or cleanse the skin. They contain light care substances such as almond oil, aloe vera, herbal or fruit extracts which make the skin soft and smooth. The advantage of a lotion over a cream is that the skin can still breathe when applying the lotion. Lotions are available in a variety of versions for all skin types and areas. The herbal Omega-3 Perilla oil contains in comparison to other plant oils the highest portion of biological active, polyunsaturated Omega-3-fatty acids. Perilla oil is obtained from the seed of the Chinese medicinal and spice plant Perilla (black nettle). It is rich in alpha-linolenacid (ALA), the only Omega-3-fatty acid, which the body cannot produce by itself. ALA makes a contribution towards maintaining a normal cholesterol level in the blood (from a daily intake of 2 grams). Each capsule contains 500 mg of pure Perilla oil. Recommended daily dose: 3 capsules in the morning, 4 capsules in the evening
