The VA 40 variable area flowmeters are suitable for measuring liquids and gases The standardized device design is available with various connections that conform to standards. The glass measuring cone, protected by a metal sleeve with a viewing glass, makes it easy to read the flow directly and observe the medium. The suitability for measuring the flow of gases in accordance with the DVGW G260 process sheet has been certified by the DVGW testing station at the Gas-Fired Thermal Institute in Essen.

The DK46/47/48/800 is a variable area (VA) flowmeter for monitoring and adjusting extremely small flow rates of liquids and gases. It is thus particularly useful for sample flow monitoring in analyser systems and gas chromatographs or measuring liquids and gases in laboratories and pilot installations. The purgemeter operates without auxiliary power supply and is available with different glass tube and installation lengths from 90 to 325 mm / 3.55 to 12.8". The medium is visible and the flow value can be read directly off the scale at the height of the float. The glass flowmeter can be provided with max. two limit switches (NAMUR) or a 3-wire digital output. For precise setting of the flow value, the VA meter features a needle valve. The DK 46/47/48/800 is also available with a differential pressure/flow regulator to provide constant flow rates in case of varying inlet or outlet pressures. The device has approvals for use in hazardous areas.

The BM26A-1000 is a magnetic level indicator (MLI) for basic liquid applications. The cost-effective level indicator is particularly suitable for continuous level measurement in water storage tanks, condensate receiver tanks as well as wash and surge tanks for fuels, lubricates, additives or similar chemicals. The level indicator features a rugged metallic design with the magnetic flaps housed in an IP68 rated, hermetically sealed glass tube. It provides a highly visible local level indication. There is absolutely no power supply needed. However, in applications with more advanced signal output requirements, the MLI can be easily equipped with optional reed switches or a reed-chain level transmitter providing analogue or digital output signals.

As a special service, we offer glass tubes and cylinders with calibrated inside diameters. Hereby, a special tool is used to bring the internal diameter precisely to the desired shape and dimension. Apart from the standard circular shape, the tubes can also be square or conical. Moreover, the outer tube diameter can be calibrated by means of cylindrical grinding. This grinding procedure results in a matt outer surface, which can be corrected by subsequent “technical polishing”.

Twisted glass tubes and capillaries are produced simply by heating and twisting. By this means, the tubes obtain a large internal surface in relation to their length, enabling them to be used e.g. as cooling sections. Another application area is for ornamental and design articles.

The distinctiveness of these capillaries is their very thin wall-thickness in relation to their diameter. The extremely thin walls lead to the special feature of these capillaries to be deformed easily. Additional features linked to the thin wall-thickness are minimal optical distortion as well as very low absorption for a wide range of radiation. This feature is used e.g. for the construction of optical measuring cells. We manufacture reagent and centrifuge tubes in standard sizes and also with special dimensions and versions from soda glass, borosilicate glass, neutral glass, and quartz glass – optionally with or without flanged rim. All our tubes have a flame burnished rim and can be supplied with a rounded, flat or pointed conical bottom. We are able to process tubes with diameters up to 40 mm, and lengths up to about 500 mm – also thick-walled tubes. Special reagent micro tubes We are able to manufacture reagent micro tubes with rounded bottoms, i.e. with very small dimensions. For example, soda glass tubes with rounded bottom, flame burnished rim, 3 mm diameter, and a length of 20 mm. Test tubes with notch for thermal processes These special test tubes were developed to enable ventilation of the tube’s interior during a thermal process. The notch prevents complete closure and thus an over pressure.

We offer a wide range of tubes for the automatic or manual determination of the melting or boiling points of liquids and solids. For this, the samples are heated slowly in the test tube until they reach their melting or boiling point. A sensor only is not a responsible for good measurement. Often it depends on the surrounding conditions. Thick-walled glass-capillary-sections serve for the sensor as solid basis. Fitted on top, the sensor is mostly islolated from thermal and other environmental impacts. Solid connections between glass and metal For the production of glass-feed-throughs or glass metal sealings, precise cuttings of capillary-tubes are needed. These special tubes are glasses, which are adjusted to the physical parameters of the metals. We draw and cut such capillaries precisely to final size. Thereby the glasses can be fused on the customers wires and pins, which are made of metal. We provide special rods and fibers, on whose tip a drop of the sample can be filled conveniently into a test tube. Fibers with a diameter of less than 0,1 mm can be inserted even into the smallest test tubes. These rods and fibers are mainly made of borosilicate glass 3.3. We can also supply rods and fibers that are made of the same type of glass as your test tubes.
