Our latest series of 3 gas-cooled weld heads technical optimized and in an new design covers the tube size ranges from 6mm – 114.3mm / 0.250” - 4.500”. Unique construction and material selection allows a high duty cycle even without water cooling. The weld heads are one of the narrowest on the market and have a ‘quick latch’ system for retaining the collets. For the high duty cycle applications we also offer the gas-cooled S series weld heads in a water-cooled SW-version (the overall width remains unchanged). BORSIG patented steam superheaters are suitable for steam pressures of up to 160 bar (16,000 kPa). The steam superheaters are arranged direct in line after the waste heat boilers which are connected to the secondary reformer or reformer – depending on the process. The steam superheater can be provided as two stage or one stage, horizontally or vertically arranged. The final design arrangement is determined by the process requirements. We have delivered steam superheaters for superheating saturated steam at a pressure stage of 12,500 kPa from 328 °C to 531 °C by cooling down process gas from 723 °C to 355 °C.

The EGR Cooler, developed in close collaboration with our customers for medium and low speed engines, ensures that the recirculation exhaust-gas is mixed at the lowest possible temperature with the air for the combustion process. EGR Coolers are an essential element of EGR systems for the next engine generation which already now fulfills future emission guidelines according to IMO (International Maritime Organization), EPA (US Emission Protection Agency), EURO, etc. We have developed various cooler designs with regard to the different requirements of EGR Coolers at 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. The patented design for 4-stroke engines high pressure EGR system enables cooling of exhaust gas, some of which are over 700 °C, down to 50 °C.

Distributed feedback (DFB) laser diodes feature a grating structure within the semiconductor and thus operate in both longitudinal and transverse single mode. Tuning is achieved by modulating either the laser current or the chip temperature. Mode-hop free tuning is maintained over several hundred GHz. Applications include alkaline spectroscopy, laser cooling, gas detection and the generation of tunable cw terahertz radiation.
