Riga HPL Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid with HPL (High Pressure Laminate) on one or both faces. On the reverse face balance paper can be applied. Overlay HPL is a decorative high-pressure laminate. HPL is made of layers of Kraft paper impregnated with phenol resins (the core) and decorative melamine impregnated paper (the surface layer), manufactured under high pressure and temperature. Colors at customer’s request. Application Furniture industry: kitchen and laboratory furniture components and worktops; furniture for shops. Transport industry and construction: finishing works of walls and ceiling, surfaces where high wear resistance and appearance are required. To Riga Ply thickness the following should be added: 2 x 0,6 mm (HPL thickness), if HPL is applied on both faces 0.6 + 0.15 mm (balance paper thickness), if HPL is applied only on one face

Riga Lacquer Riga Lacquer is birch plywood, which is varnished on one or on both faces for interior application. Advantages Decorative, environmentally friendly, durable, easily workable. Riga Mel Birch plywood ( Riga Ply) overlaid with a white melamine film on both faces (grade M/M); reverse face can be overlaid with a phenol film. Advantages The surface is hygienic, odour free, weather- and water-proof, resists commonly used chemicals and UV rays. The surface is easy-to-clean with water and steam. Applications Transport industry: finishing of walls and ceilings; furniture components and table tops, shop fitting and exhibition stands and booths, advertisement and information boards. Surface overlay The surface is smooth, glossy and hard. Nevertheless, it may easily crack in case of hard impacts. The reverse face usually is smooth (F). Film color Phenol films: Dark brown 120 and 220g/m2, Black 120g/m2 , Light Brown 120g/m2, yellow 167g/m2. UV resistant films: Dark grey 220g/m2, Light grey 220g/m2, White melamine 200g/m2, Opal white 174g/m2. Under transparent films BB grade veneer can be applied. Applications Transport industry: finishing of walls and ceilings; industrial furniture: components, shelving system and table tops; shop fitting; exhibition stands; booths, advertisment and information boards. Advantages Environmentally friendly, durable, easily workable, hygienic, odour free, easy-to-clean, wear resistant, weather- and water-proof, resists commonly used chemicals. Further processing Plywood can be machined with wood working tools: cutting, drilling, milling, jointing in length, tongue and groove (T&G), half laps, profiled edges etc. Overlaying A matt phenol, UV resistant or melamine film, which is hot-pressed onto the surface, is used as an overlay. The phenol film is composed of a basic paper which is impregnated with phenol resin. The UV resistant film is impregnated with a special thermosetting mixture of polymers containing amino resins. The melamine film is a modified resin based film with improved crack resistance for the decorative lamination of plywood. Overlaying with higher resistance to abrasion and multi-layer overlaying is also possible (respectively 240g/m2; 440g/m2, etc.). Multi-layer overlaying gives superior wear resistance.
