Finned tubes for efficient heat exchange Large exchange area in a small space By using finned tubes (also known as corrugated rib tubes), optimal heat exchange can be achieved in a small space. By applying so-called ribs to smooth tubes, the exchange area of ​​the tubes is increased considerably. Finned tubes are usually used where an optimal temperature exchange between gaseous media and liquids is to be achieved. Different designs for every purpose In many cases, finned tubes are built into production machines as a component in machine and apparatus construction. Finned tubes can be designed for a variety of special application conditions. The length, the design and the ribbing can be individually adapted.

Air heat exchangers as finned tube heat exchangers Heat transfer between a gaseous media and a liquid Finned tube heat exchangers are often called air/water heat exchangers or gas/water heat exchangers. Heat transfer between a gas (for ex. air) and a liquid (for ex. water) takes place in the air-/water heat exchangers. To improve the thermal output transfer from the gas to the liquid, fins made of well heat transferring materials are put on the tubes. Very often air-/water heat exchangers are used as exhaust heat exchanger to gain the energy out of warm or hot exhaust fumes. Finned tube heat exchangers can also be used as air heater, air cooler or condenser.

The air flows around outside the tubes or the fins/lamellas. The connection between the fins and the tube is used to enlarge the space for heat transfer between the liquid and the gas fluid. The technical figures (for ex. amount of air, temperature, pressure, waste of air) can be different for the air-water heat exchanger. Also the operating conditions and the environment conditions can vary from application to application.

Explosion-proof heaters - ATEX – Standard. Explosion-proof heaters are used in many industrial or commercial applications that are classified as hazardous areas. Our appliances are used to heat the ambient air of hazardous areas in zone 1 and 2, typically in chemical industries, paint and lacquer industries, sewage plants and mining. Heaters made of high-grade stainless steel are recommended for aggressive environments (e.g. sewage plants), while heaters with a painted or coated surface, also available with protection basket, are sufficient for standard applications. CSN® EXPLOSIONPROOF SPACE HEATERS CSN® explosionproof space heaters are used for heating zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas. Standard devices are available in the common temperature classes T1 to T4; temperature classes T5 and T6 can be offered on request. The use of finned tubes for the CSN® explosionproof space heaters is the most economical solution for heat transfer in the field of electric heaters. By coiling corrugated helical fins on tubes of different alloys, we obtain extremely large tubes surfaces and, consequently, low temperatures on their surfaces. We use this interaction to produce explosionproof space heaters on a highquality level. CSN® explosionproof space heaters with coiled fins are intended for horizontal mounting and suitable for both wall and floor mounting (for permanent installation)

Industrial condenser dryer DH 65 SThe compact industrial dehumidifier DH 65 S dries up to 80 liters per day This condenser dryer is an equally powerful and economic dehumidification solution for various dry keeping applications during industrial processes or product storage. In addition to the hot gas automatic defrost system, the DH 65 S comes with an aluminium tube evaporator without fins which permits an effective dehumidification performance even at a low humidity level. Moreover, the modular refinement of the electrical system and the water-bearing components of this industrial dryer was realized according to European standard. Hence, with the DH 65 S you have a particularly economic dehumidifier for reliable permanent drying applications. Owing to its sturdy swivel casters with RollStop catch, this drying unit can easily be transported from one application site to another.

Kelvion heat exchanger coils are manufactured with copper tubes and aluminum or copper fins. The fins are equipped with special profiles developed at our R&D department enhancing heat transfer and keeping pressure drop at a moderate level. The customized fin spacing is achieved by collars which also provide the contact between the fin block and the tubes. Mechanical expansion of the tubes guarantees a perfect bond between the fins and the tubes leading to maximum heat transfer between both fluids.
