The extremely space-saving design of our screen changer allows a lot of creative freedom, both with new machines and in the case of retrofitting, since the structure of the extruder platform only needs to be adjusted a little. The screen changer is installed instead of a connection piece and can be equipped with a hydraulic or electric drive. The simplest way, however, is to use a cordless screwdriver, which makes changing bits a quick and easy endeavor. Screen changers are available for all common throughputs.

The MRS-EXTRUDER from Gneuss is a multi rotation system that can be used for applications such as bottle to bottle recycling, thermoforming sheet, and PA degassing. Its compact, and robust layout utilizes multiple small extruder barrel integrated with "satellite"screws that rotates at the opposite direction as it enhances the surface exchange of the polymer melt.

The Gneuss Processing Unit (GPU) is a modular configuration of different Gneuss products and technologies, which are combined in to a high performance extrusion line for the manufacturing of high quality products.

In the aluminium industry, the porthole extrusion process is the standard method for the production of extruded tubes and profiles. The process is limited to a number of aluminium alloys. However, most of the commercially available medium strength aluminium alloys such as EN AW-6060 or EN AW-6082 can be extruded by porthole extrusion.

Space-saving in a vertical (e.g. for retrofitting) but also in a horizontal version, our extruders are available in many variations for your specific needs. For applications with larger throughputs, we have high-quality extruders with heat-separated feed zone cooling, which deliver a high-quality melt for the further process. We also offer coordinated screw designs for special materials such as PVC, PA, EVOH, E-PET or adhesive layers.

Long-lasting staple products Though food-extrusion is often associated with "fun" products like snacks and breakfast-cereals in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colours and flavours targeted to children, the technique is also employed for some staple foods. One such product category is that of "flat-bread" or "crisp-bread". "Flat-" or "crisp-bread" is essentially an extruded strip that is cut into specified length and dried to a low enough moisture level to enable a long shelf life under ambient conditions. On request, we can supply aluminium alloys in the form of rod or bar. These are available in most of the commercially available aluminium alloys. The tolerances of extruded aluminium rods and bars can also be further improved by subsequent drawing. The transmission sensor ACS3 is applied for measurements of self-luminous objects and transparent objects as well. Measuring the colour of self-luminous objects requires only the receiver unit, whereas a transmitter and a receiver unit are necessary when detecting transparent objects. The transmitter and the receiver unit can easily be fixed by means of a mounting set.

The idiamCONTROL sensor system precisely measures the inner diameter of bore holes such as in extruders in order to determine the wear. The idiamCONTROL is guided into the bore hole and determines the bore hole diameter while being pulled out. Wear-based tolerance violations are automatically displayed and can be output via USB.

Endless extruded round belts Our endless extruded round belts are ideal for low power requirements. They are elastic power transmission elements that do not need cost-intensive tensioning devices. In view of the special production process, they do not have any welding seams or terminal connections and run very smoothly. Moreover, they allow a minimum pulley diameter starting from 5.5 x belt diameter. Our types E80, V75, C70 and P82 are made of specially selected and dynamically tough materials. In addition, type E80 also is antistatic to a limited extent and has a resistance value of about 106 Ohm; thus, it is excellent for use in electronic devices and chip production. This treatment gives PROF2000 the same surface structure as post-painted extruded materials, so the two materials match seamlessly. It is commonly used for facade cladding, interior cladding for tunnels, as well as other industrial applications.

Sweet creamy fillings in a moulded, crisp extrudate shell The latest in sophisticated products from direct extrusion are the co-extruded, centre filled products. In these products a soft filling with a pumpable viscosity is metered continuously, using a suitable pump, into an extruded pipe, simultaneously while it is being extruded. A special design co-extrusion die is used for this purpose. The result is an extruded pipe filled with a creamy mass. This pipe can then be moulded into various shapes continuously with the help of special moulding rollers. EXTRU - Melt pump for extrusion and pressure increase of medium to high viscosity media. The extrusion gear pump is mainly used in combination with extruders or kneaders. It reduces the natural pulsation of the extruder and compensates for fluctuations in delivery, especially in single screw extruders. The extrusion pump is used as a melt pump. It builds up the required feed pressure, which is needed for the downstream die. The pressure build-up in the gear pump can be much more efficient than in the extruder itself. The extruder is relieved by using an extrusion pump. Furthermore, considerably less energy or heat is introduced into the polymer. The melt pump thus contributes to conveying the product as gently as possible. The EXTRU is indispensable for the production of precise films or micro pellets.

Melt pump specially designed for use in the production of medical tubing made of TPE, PE or PA. The melt pump is installed downstream of the extruder in the extrusion process for pressure build-up and constant delivery of the melt to the die. It is particularly important for medical tubing that the wall thickness and quality is absolutely constant and uniform.

The SOMOS® RDF dryer is used for drying hygroscopic polymer pellets. It consists of compact RDF modules which can be flexibly combined, are capable of autonomous operation and have drying capacities of 10 kg/h to 250 kg/h per module. The modules are available in 7 sizes with a volume of between 30 l and 600 l and a drying are volume between 10 m3 and 180 m3, each one being individually controllable by its own controller. Alternatively, when interconnected, they can be controlled using a common operator control unit. Each module has an integrated air generator, so ruling out complete failure, as may occur with a centrally supplied drying system.

FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE The SOMOS® Gramix TwinDos dosing system supplies twin screw extruders in the "underfed" mode required for such extruders. Optimized hardware and control software ensure extremely short system response times, the weighing electronics operating with 24 bit signal resolution. For example, the system even responds automatically to changing regrind consistencies and optimizes itself by appropriately readjusting the metered components. No software adaptation (e.g. using appropriate material characteristic curves) is required for this purpose. The closed dosing system releases little dust and can be installed directly on the processing machine, so saving space.
