The specially developed production line can unwind, label, roughen, cut to length, strip, wind, bind and automatically deposit the cable wires. The material to be processed is unwound by a motorised unwinder and fed to a thermal transfer printer via a straightener. The latter prints the cable with two QR codes and a serial number. This ensures that each cable can be identified throughout the entire processing and manufacturing process and assigned to the stations which have already passed through. This traceability offers great advantages – for example in the diagnosis of faults. The cable then passes through a roughening station, which lightly roughens the material surface so that the connector overmoulding adheres better later on. An AM 3550 from Metzner Maschinenbau cuts to length and strips the cable, which is then transported to the winding station and onwards by a gripper to the binding machine. The latter winds the cable to form a cable ring.

PLL is a serie of label sheets in A4 format, with matt surface, primarily for laser printing. Its material is UL-approved adhesive polyester for indoor and outdoor use. The PLL range also includes adhesive, self-laminating and printable wrap-around labels. Its material is UL-approved MT310 transparent polyester. The additional transparent part is wrapped around the cable and laminates the print field and protects the marking against chemicals and wear. The JET3up PI is a pigment ink printer primarily used for cables and many other products with dark backgrounds. Data on dark surfaces such as cable must be printed with bright inks. But those present a major challenge for conventional inkjet printers because the pigments in contrast inks settle out. But not with the JET3up PI! The industrial inkjet printer has a unique stirring device that keeps the pigments in motion, thus keeping the ink in the printer always ready for use. This way LEIBINGER guarantees maximum print quality and highest reliability even for the use of pigmented inks. With the automatic nozzle seal "Sealtronic" in the JET3up MI, LEIBINGER can guarantee that the ink does not dry, even after long-term shut-downs. When production stops, the gutter and the nozzle form an airtight circuit: No ink may leak from the circulation and no air can come in. Even after long downtimes LEIBINGER inkjet printers are ready to print within a minute – without cleaning cycles.
