A client in automotive industry intends to improve the inline glue bead supervision performed when automatically applying glue beads inside body parts. The system to be purchased should be able to monitor position, height and width of the glue bead any time. Until now, the client makes use of a 3D laser system with very complex beam guidance, in order to compensate problems arising from narrow space available. This present configuration however involves difficulties in adjustment, often giving rise to trouble and interruptions. Therefore the client is looking for a safe and less complicate solution. The chellenge in glue bead supervision: While the glue bead is being applied, very complex geometrical patterns are followed; the nozzle for the glue meanwhile does not rotate. Therefore this nozzle must be supervised in the total angle of 360°. This glue bead supervision can only be met by a laser scanner featuring an extremely low form factor.

Embossing punching is an important technique in the automated production of car parts, guided by robots. A laser system with a sensor harness measures the car body and its machining plane so that the embossing depth can be determined with maximum accuracy. The car body part is then embossed accordingly and all necessary holes are punched. Embossing punching is used for the fixture of headlights, bonnets, sliding roofs, boot lids and locks as well as wings. Our embossing punching machines are suitable for single-layer steel and aluminium sheet metal. Compared with conventional Multi Cuplas, approximately double flow rates are realized. This could reduce the size of required plates. (Rate of flow increase depends on Cupla sizes.) The MALC type realizes a 2mm axial eccentricity allowance, while the conventional Multi Cupla is only 0.6mm. Special valve design enables connection of socket and plug under dynamic pressure of up to 8MPa. When connected, the distance between the socket plate and plug plate is designed to be 30mm for all sizes. This means any size of Cupla can be mounted and used on the same plate. Airless structure valves prevent outflow of fluid and admixture of air into the fluid line. Autocatalytic NickelPhosphorus coating is adopted for surface treatment over special steel body and internal parts. This coating is environmentfriendly.

Orings in particular are FEPcoated fluororubber with excellent chemical resistance and no rubber elution. To connect with a plug, just push the socket on to it. Disconnection is done in simple and onehanded button operation. Unique “doublelock mechanism” prevents accidental disconnection of socket and plug. Branched tube port improves operability and reduces required piping space. Plugs come with a dust cap.

The 1+ connector consists of just two parts, the connector body and the pressure screw. The clamping ring is incorporated into the pressure screw. The thread and connecting sleeve are integrated inside in the connector body. They cannot be damaged and are thus protected against external effects. Further advantages: The connector is completely leak-proof when it is "hand-tight" and no tools are required. This significantly reduces assembly times. The pressure screw can also be tightened with a fork wrench so there is no gap between the connection and the connector body.

This connector is specially designed for mesh-reinforced flexible tubes. As all of the Generation+ connectors, it consists of only two parts: the connector body and the pressure screw. The clamping ring is incorporated into the pressure screw. An extra clamping ring is not required. The thread and connecting sleeve are integrated inside in the connector body. The advantage: they cannot be damaged and are protected against external effects.

For installation into pipes to the protection of vessels and components against stable detonation of flammable liquids and gases. Tested and approved as detonation flame arrester type 4. Approved for all substances of explosion groups IIA1 to IIA with a maximum experimental safe gap (MESG) > 0.9 mm. Bi-directionally working in pipes, whereby an operating pressure of 1.2 bar abs. and an operating temperature of 60 °C must not be exceeded. The installation of the detonation flame arrester into horizontal and vertical pipes is permissible. Provided with one or two temperature sensors (PT 100) the armature is certified against short time burning from one or both sides. If only one thermal sensor is attached, it must be installed into that part of the body from which a fire is expected.

The continuous non-contact Area-Weight Scale CONTI-SCALE X MULTIENERGY determines the panel weight and its distribution during production by measuring the area-weight and by taking the known panel dimensions into account. CONTI-SCALE X MULTIENERGY uses X-ray technology. Two X-ray tubes are located on a horizontal frame above the panel. The low energy X-ray beams are focused across the production width, but scan the full width of the panel. Metal plates on each side of the system prevent someone reaching inside the radiation area. There is no risk to human body parts which might stay beside/outside the system. The X-ray energy will be absorbed. Several detectors are lined up along the lower beam under the panel to measure (per track) the absorbed X-ray energy. This is how the area-weight is measured.
